The Huffy Aerowind deserves a place on the list by virtue of being the fastest heavyweight bike.

I found one for 2.50 at a yard sale (yes I talked them down from 10.00).

Top 10 best bikes is a broad category considering each style of riding is unique in many ways. Ive been searching for my next "cruiser" and found a top 10 list for that. It has firmstrong sixthreezero and huffy on there and based on what ive learned I would agree with the list.

I found other top 7's and stuff. I would imagine if you searched for road bikes there would be a direct list for that.

I pretty much have decided on the firmstrong but I still cant rule out that columbia 1952 retro lol...which is not on this list lol

Actual Bikes We've Ridden?

I had a 1977 Centurion Semi-Pro that was particularly nice. A really great ride, this bike also came in the all-Campy NR Centurion Professional. Mine had the same frame - I'd guess that this bike would be near the top 10.

Some favor the Schwinn Paramount, naturally.

Cinelli? Never rode one.

Masi Gran Criterium?

How about the Fuji Professional?

Anyone ride any of these?

Forbes Welcome

But seriously though, all bikes are great bikes as long as you ride them and get enjoyment out of the ride.

Have fun, ride safely and stop worrying about silly lists.
That's a impressive stable but,,,, no Murray?

I thought that if I listed the Murray or the Huffy people would accuse me of bragging.

Best for what?

Racing?
Loaded touring?
Riding on no trail in the forest?
Riding on snow at the South Pole?
Riding on water?

Dumb question.

Good point, but hey, I had a question important to me so I used Google. It sent me here.

Google is how I got here! Hahahaaaa!

As far as top 10 best bikes, would that include bikes from 1800's, such as the high wheeling Standards or pre-WWI or pre WWII or 1970's or 1990's? Where is the line drawn? And how does one rate a mountain bike compared to a BMX bike to road bike to track bike, an errand bike, etc.??

I think this is really a thread all about the thought patterns of the writer. His or her view of the best bike and that has so many possible interpretations & ideas of what is "best".

I guess that is why I have so many bikes (six). Some days I just like one over all the others!

My favorite bike and it admittedly has to do with experiences on it and personal reasons for me was my Viscount. I believe it is a 1972 or 72 and one half or 1973 manufacture, when they were still make in the Lambert factory in England. Just before they sold out. My oh my, if that bike could talk! Best bike ever! Got me through some heavy dark challenges with speed and agility and style!

The best bike ever made is the one that I'm riding on at the time. Be it a road, a recumbent, or a mountain bike. I'm just happy to be riding.

Why, a 1990 Schwinn High Plains must be in the top 3! Trek 830 up there as well.
