Hello from the Bay Area
I've been biking to get around since 2012, but only recently have I started learning about bikes beyond just how to go, turn, and stop. It's been a lot of fun! I've been reading bikeforums for a while but have been too shy to say anything until now. Self-control has never been one of my strengths so I've already accumulated more cool old bikes than I need (but not as many as I want!). I've had an early 90s Simplon Vuelta for a few years, and this year have added a 1988 Schwinn Premis, a 70s Argentinian Roger Competition, and a 1986 Maruishi TourAce 18 as a daily rider, an art piece, and a (not yet multi-day) tourer, respectively. I tell myself that it's okay because the total cost for all of them is lower than a nice new modern bike, and at least I do ride them all. But my studio apartment looks like a bike shop so hopefully I start making wiser decisions once the new hobby excitement passes.

It's so tempting to get just one more... I have no desire to get rid of any of the ones I already have, so we'll see what happens the next time I see one I want at a reasonable price.
