Well, I’m pretty new to cycling and, since the loop I ride has a decent hill that definitely impacts me, I googled this question and found this, uh, interesting thread.

Somewhere in here is the answer, I believe, but I may have to ask some of the engineers at my office to translate and contribute ; )
