I miss bike racing and being able to eat everything on sight without getting fat.

Finished up dialing in the new carbon road bike. Swapped the stem out and fixed the spacers along with rotating the bars. Just need to swap the bottle cage out and it should be done.

There's so many chinarello's out there that even though you forked over good money for yours, everybody just assumes the prior. Better opt for the less copied 'nago or wilier instead.
I wouldn't go for a crabon bike, I like steel too much. It was more of a joke. However I would love to own a vintage 60s era 'nago for sure. Eddy Merckxkxkxkxkxkx is one of my favorite cyclists. The only crabon I might consider is from Holland Cycles (not John Hollands of MD who may not be building anymore?) they have some sweet tubes that are Crabon inside molded to Ti outside with some sweet cut outs.

I went to the Cadieux Cafe in Detroit over the weekend. It's a famous Belgian place, known for it's "Feather Bowling". They had at least a dozen old pics of Merckx on the walls.

so i went to the PO that it got sent to, to have them tell me its available at the correct one 20 mins after i had left there.

for some reason my legs were rockin today and managed about 21mph avg speed on the main flat stretch there and back, then as i turn into the lot to the correct PO, my rear wheel gets all squirrely on me, so i look down and its essentially flat.

picked up my goods and used a co2 for the first time in over a year to get home. inhaled some food and now i prepare the camelbak for trailtime.

So you stopped racing this season for financial reasons... right?

Did you stop riding too?

Had to redo the rim tape on my front wheels because it was leaking. Had some spare Stan's tape that was wider than what was on there originally, and it seems like its holding well. These tires are massive.

Didn't stop riding just not riding/training at the same level as before. Leading into race season, I was hitting the gym 2-3 times a week with bike work 2-3 times also. I'm hoping to start back up cause Cross season is coming and I should be able to swing that.

do it!

@veganbikes Holland cycles is indeed very cool. My work is about 3 blocks from there in the industrial Kearny Mesa area of SD. The lead mechanic is a personal acquaintance of mine, and their wheelbuilder built the Hed Belgium/Powertap wheels that I've been riding nearly daily for a year now. It's a great shop with a friendly staff.

I have long term plans to get a custom Ti Holland built for my daily/training bike. While the Exogrid bikes look cool, it seems gimmicky to me. I prefer the aesthetic, simplicity and longevity of straight Ti tubes.

I started using hockey tape years ago, only because it was all all I had, and I've only ever used it since then. I'm talking at least 20 years.

I used gorilla tape for my tubeless wheels, worked perfectly for the mtb.

I also used it in non tubeless wheels because I didn't have any rim tape and it seems to be doing just fine.

I used black gorilla tape to "upholster" the back of my Scirocco, and it worked great!

I'd love to have a BMX bike but I don't ever want another bike that weighs in excess of 25 lbs. I'd have to have at least 24" wheels, too. Need sweet cruiser class race bike.
