My new purchase

Have fallen in love with the design of this mixte
picked it up for $40. . Fixing her up now. A timeless treasure to me.

Looks like a good quality foundation to build on. Fyi this style is called "mixte" if you want to search for some inspiration.

Nice bike. This, for sure, is a good bike. As for the handlebars, you have bull horn bars, but they are upside down. The end should be facing up. Many of the mixte's that you will see here on Bike Forums have been converted to one of the many forms of upright bars. There is nothing wrong with bull horn bars either if you end up liking them. If you don't like them, save them for another project, sell them, trade them or give them away. They are desirable some of us that want a racy position but don't use the "drops".
