Not that convinced about the silver bartape tho, I guess plain black or white would be a better contrast?

It's beautiful! More patience and skill than I could ever hope for.

As for the bar tape, my vote is for yellow, purple, or black

Beautiful bike! It must feel gratifying to have it up and running after so much effort.

Very nice work, fabulous.

Couple of observations and I realize you have thought these through.

That old seat is a find despite being a bit beat up, I would take the paste polish to it if only for show, it can cover and mitigate a lot of damage/wear as I'm sure you know.

All those beautiful polished and painted Campy parts need pedals too imho, MKS Sylvan for riders at least.

Just my 2c, great job.

Thanks for the advice! I used black shoes polish before on the saddle because the leather was very beat up. It's very uncomfortable to say the least so decided to buy a new saddle but keeping anyway, planning on polishing the fluted seatpost that came with it and just storing it for later.

And yes totally agree, I still need a pair of campy pedals and levers. I've put some cheap MTB pedals on there that were polishable and somewhat not too much of a curse.

Didn't know those MKS Sylvans, they look good as well! Thank you for the tip!

Fangio Branded as the bike, shoe polish helped but not sure about stains on pants tho 😅

Didn't think about those colours but good advice, I'll keep it in mind!

Cheers,

Max

The seat could go to the cobbler for a refinish and that's why shorts are black.

The MKS are tough as nails, economical and great looking as riders, placeholders or the full ride.

Hi guys!

After some time here's an update on the bike.

It's actually completely finished as we speak. The Campa Record hubs are polished, new chain, new white bartape with nice gel pads underneath, new conti Grand Prix Classic clinchers on the Campa Omega Stradas. Better pictures of the bike soon!

Still have some skipping issues with the freewheel but I have a new 14-24 waiting to be installed so hopefully all is sorted then...

Ridden about 80 km's on it so far and loving it!

Used these as bar pads 😅 0.99 cents each

Did not use the Cinelly gel bartape yet tho

I opted for those tires on two of my bikes and so far I like them. I get a nice, smooth ride out of them.

The bike looks outstanding.

Wow! I am completely blown away. I learned about an unfamiliar-to-me marque, and I watched an incredible blow-by-blow restoration process, with lots of attention to small details. My cycling helmet is off to you!

Me too. I'm looking at a frame from St. Etienne Cycles.

Is it from a French ebayer? I was looking at that one too! Very tempting.

Yes, that's the one. I am just looking.., not serious. One thing I noticed about that 877 decal on the downtube:
It is a fork decal, and not the proper frame decal that says Legere.
