I'm not asking how many spacers I should use for fit purposes. I just want to know if there are three small ones and one larger one.
To review. The difference in drop from my saddle to the handlebars between the new bike and the old bike is about 2 inches. I was hoping to use all the spacers but then that leaves me with the spacers on the top and there could be some sort of steerer tube "explosion" issue. if there are only three small spacers I might not bother.

I feel your pain. No matter how many toys she has laying around, pup has to find something different to chew on.

I thought that I'd be choosing between the lesser of two miserables, riding in ****ty weather vs sitting on my ass, but it turns out that the ride was surprisingly pleasant. I was actually tempted to turn the maintenance ride in to something a little longer but, alas, the wife and kids were expecting me back. In any event, I credit the hot pink Rapha jacket - WAAAAAY superior to any marigold jacket.

I know everyone has been waiting for the results of the shake down ride with the new seatpost.
It was good! I knew a 30 mm setback would probably do the trick and it did. Best bike money spent in a while. I will ride it as-is for a while and adjust from there as needed.
Bottom line:
The new rig is making me happy.

if you’re like me, the answer will come to you like a bolt from the blue after about seven months of agony. However, in the meantime, grease anything which contacts a dropout, nip up your seat and stem bolts, and put your keys in a different pocket. If you’re bored, overhaul your BB. One more observation: echolocation by the rider, in these cases, is practically useless.
