Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

To review. The difference in drop from my saddle to the handlebars between the new bike and the old bike is about 2 inches. I was hoping to use all the spacers but then that leaves me with the spacers on the top and there could be some sort of steerer tube "explosion" issue. if there are only three small spacers I might not bother.
I'm dense. Are you worried about using too many spacers? Can you take a photo from further back?

Awesome shovel.
Awesome Marigold jacket.
Awesome elegant, lightweight and aero seatpost.
We’ll see how long you can keep that up.

I’ve never broken a chain, ever, including back in the pre-Lyme days when I used to ride a lot.

I feel your pain. No matter how many toys she has laying around, pup has to find something different to chew on.

I remember that. I never would have expected that from any puppy, but just when you're certain you've seen it all, you haven't. Puppies are very industrious.

I thought that I'd be choosing between the lesser of two miserables, riding in ****ty weather vs sitting on my ass, but it turns out that the ride was surprisingly pleasant. I was actually tempted to turn the maintenance ride in to something a little longer but, alas, the wife and kids were expecting me back. In any event, I credit the hot pink Rapha jacket - WAAAAAY superior to any marigold jacket.

It was a tour of the local cafe locations. So, naturally, there was plenty of espresso.

That seatpost and color scheme is elegant. The seatbag is also admirable.

A twist, Jones is keeping up with the RNS's.

I know everyone has been waiting for the results of the shake down ride with the new seatpost.

It was good! I knew a 30 mm setback would probably do the trick and it did. Best bike money spent in a while. I will ride it as-is for a while and adjust from there as needed.

Bottom line:
The new rig is making me happy.

Yeah it’s amazing on how sound travels. I went back and tightened everything up, had forgotten to check the seat post bolt. Snuggled up. Click gone. Thnx.
