Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

While standing in the stretched out line at the fancy grocery store, I spied a caramel apple pie flavored stroopwafel. I had to buy it.

It was rubbish.

Oh, I also spied an older gentleman licking his fingers to sort through his coupons while at the touch-screen self-checkout. I guess that he hasn't gotten the message, yet.

He may get the message sooner than he plans.

MN Gov says I can ride my bike and that liquor stores are essential. Yay. The liquor stores have been getting hammered in anticipation of a shut-down, I tried to go today but there was a line (in the rain) to get in, so hopefully this'll cool some jets so I can re-up.

Subtle but important distinction. Thank you for the reminder.

I always thought that was a disgusting habit. These one really thinks about all the hands that have touched the object you just handled and where those hands have been.

That a pretty good answer for a toothache. I could live with that as opposed to some of the things it could have been.

One of the north bound gringas, now at home, is coming down with something. Possibly just a normal flu.

I rode again today. Second day in a row for the first time since I hurt my shoulder back in January. Though I did my normal 32 oz pre-hydrate, one bottle wasn't enough. A more modern bike is called for. The 92 Paramount is only missing a back wheel, so it will likely get the call-up.
