"Pedal your A** off" T-shirt.
I ordered a really neat T-shirt from www.1lesscar.com . It shows the sillouette of a guy with a really huge butt riding a bike and underneath it says "PEDAL YOUR ASS OFF". I thought it was a riot. However, I have worn it and NOBODY sees the joke until I explain it to them. I figure the problem is that we are so used to seeing fat butts that it doesn't register that the guy has a big butt. However, a solution is at hand. I am going to take some white acrylic paint, make the guys butt REALLY huge and insert the word "FAT" between the words "YOUR" AND "ASS".
By the way, I'm not dumping on fat people. It's just that the shirt reflects my credo. I have pedaled over 40 pounds off my own butt.

You might have a point there, Doug. I thought the shirt was pretty great too and showed it to my son, who didn't see the joke either.
Let me know how your revisions go over.

Maybe the caption should have been "One less fat fanny" or "One Less Fat A**" instead of "Pedal Your A** Off"
I am not making fun off fat people either. I have lost over 60lbs in the last few years and know what its like being a bit obese.

I should get one of those shirts for the blob I work with...he is 5'8" and about 350lbs. And he told me I was "taking undue risks" riding my bike to work. He does that just walking down the hall. Do they sell these shirts in XXXL?

Excellent stuff! I have the same company (basically) here in Canada. I love it when I see people wearing Bike Friendly clothes, and the One Less Car stickers are all over the place here in Ottawa (They come from the Bike Dump though). Drivers hate it, but whatever... they need to get with the program.
1LessCar... great stuff, keep up the good work!

Hi Cole,
I followed a link to your site from the bikepirates community on
livejournal. I was thinking your stuff looked pretty cool until I
came to the pedal your ass off shirt.
Listen, with all the other cool stuff you make, do you really want to
be peddling this offensive, fat-phobic crap?
No, I'm not just being P.C. This image is offensive. Would you sell a
shirt that essentially said, "Hey black people, ride bikes and you
won't be so black anymore!"?
Besides which, it's just patently false that biking makes you thin or
that fat people don't ride bikes. I am fat. Have been all my life. I
ride every day, everywhere. I ride long and hard and sweaty. I do not
own a car. Bikes are my primary means of transportation.
I have been riding like this for a year and a half. And guess what?
I'm still fat! (And incidentally, I am also vegan, in case you were
thinking that it must be because of my horrible diet.)
I'm doing good by my health and the environment by biking. And I'm still fat!
And based on my observations, the people who nearly kill me in their
SUV's on a daily basis are overwhelmingly skinny yuppie women,
probably on their way to the gym.
On behalf of all fat cyclists,
k-bunny

I'm fat and I ride a bike. I wouldn't be offended if I saw a shirt like that, but I wouldn't buy one either.

Hey cabana, I'm fat(also from Michigan originally). Don't worry about you're shirt making people upset. Whether people are vegetarians or omnivores, it's calories in versus calories out. Being fat is a choice. I make no apologies, and offer no excuses. I've discovered that when an older person can't exercise, the amount of food we need to sustain ourselves is much lower than I thought. My fault. There are very few people that actually have medical problems that make them gain weight when they burn off more calories than they consume.

I'm not offended. Maybe I'll get one...but only after I've pedalled my ass off.

I wouldn't personally be offended but I also wouldn't buy one, primarily because of the profanity... I'd be more likely to buy a "Pedal your butt off" shirt, but I'm not sure it would be quite as funny. I've got an 8-year old son, it's just easier not to have stuff with the word "ass" in it than to try and make him not use it when he sees me wearing it.

I used to date a gal who had a shirt with a cartoon of a hot gal riding a bike that said 'Yes, my mother knows I pedal my ass all over town'. She fit in that shirt really well too.

People just don't have sense of humor these days. I think they take life too seriously. I wore and old cyclist evolution shirt to work the other day. They didn't get it. When I tried to explain (why should I EVEN have to explain?), I just got the stare.
Oh well. My life goes on.......

You got some nice shirts there, especially the freedom and einstein shirts. Now if we could only get the "Bike Forims" shirt w/ the serious/pee graph...
