Well...

You know how when you cook a big meal and then don't feel like eating it? It was the same sort of thing with this. I built it, rode it a few times and then it just sat in my living room. Last night was the first time I rode it in over a month and I was reminded what a sin it is to let it sit. Right now it has only 106 miles on it.

It fits better than any bike I've own. It doesn't impose itself - no pain, no adjusting position every 30 seconds because of discomfort, able to ride in the drops or the tops, no problem. It's weird having a bike that fits perfectly.

The fork makes that hollow carbon bike sound so it gives the sensation of riding carbon. Those who ride carbon know what I mean. It is not cushy like the Bianchi Pista which could be downright springy at times. I would not call it buttery smooth. It is stiff and you can certainly feel expansion joints and cracks in the road but it is not twitchy like a track bike and very easy to handle. Rodriguez nailed the "sporty road geometry" for me.

I'm not sure about the tires. They pick up every pebble and grain of sand. They are scary like a race car tire - tons of grip and ultra fast but I'm afraid to find out how far I can push them.

But yeah, I will publicly commit to riding this thing more and intend to do a metric or two, maybe even a century on it this summer/fall.

Can you please tell me why a custom-fit frame with a pretty long headtube needs so many spacers 'tween the headset & stem?

Came across a 2008 Greg Lemond Fillmore frame that happens to be my size... for a great price too. Transferred the parts over from my KHS Flite 100 and built it up. Unfortunately, its not in the best cosmetic condition but it rides like a dream. I do miss the tight track frame aesthetics of the kilo TT but the Lemond handles much snappier yet is confidence inspiring with its road bike geometry. This is basically a Trek road bike with the slightly adjusted "Lemond" geometry with track dropouts.

True Temper OX Platinum tubing with full carbon fork. 17.7lbs as pictured. Next is a lighter wheelset and better tires/tubes

Sweet bike! Like a cooler version of my Wabi IMO.

Not at all... Your question is less about the bike and more about the rider. I've never been terribly flexible. Too much saddle to bar drop puts pressure on the crotch and causes numbness for me - very uncomfortable. A low handlebar also rotates weight forward onto my hands and makes them go numb too.

The bike was sized with only 17 mm saddle to bar drop - the head tube is pretty long + 30 mm spacers + 8° stem. My Niner gravel bike is my next most comfortable bike and is set up with similar saddle to bar drop.

Woah a "classic".
Be very careful torquing down that seat collar and only adjust when absolutely necessary.
They're very fragile and there's no real solution to get around a cracked one.

Is there really nothing you can about a cracked one, short of taking it to a good welder for expensive repair?

I saw a Wabi Classic frame for sale locally, in my size. Owner is asking a mere $50 for it, because it's cracked. The crack runs circumferentially around the seat tube, between the clamp and the top tube joint. It goes both sides of the slit at the back, a few centimeters in each direction.

In the context of what the pista concept is made out of, aluminum, it's really difficult to repair due to the characteristics of the material and the lack of material in that area. It has very thin tubing.
Even then after a repair, there's no guarantee that the repair will last even the first use right afterward.

The Wabi Classic on the other hand, is steel. Steel is the easiest to repair by both the property of steel and "modular" construction of steel frames.
You should have no problems getting it repaired by a person that knows the trade. With the repair lasting more than a lifetime.
