Dahon III rear fender

I have a Dahon III folder that I bought on E-Bay (I have no idea what this bikes provenance is). The rear fender is broken at the frame mount (old plastic, I probably shouldn't have used the fender as an occasional "third leg" when folded). I don't really use it anymore and want to sell the bike to a friend who lives in Philly, but I don't want to sell her a broken bike.

I've done some Google searching (and searching on here), but the only replacement fender that I've found was this expired e-bay listing: Rear Fender Mud Guard for Dahon Classic III Bike Bicycle | eBay

I know nothing about the vintage folding scene. Does anyone here have any suggestions on where I might find a community of folks who might be able to sell me a replacement, or give suggestions on how to hack a fix?

Thanx.

29 bucks seems reasonable for an antique part ...
If I would be able to even get them I would probably charge more ... but I cant get them ... :-)
best thor

those plastic fenders are not so easy to come by separately. if you really wanted one, the best way to get it would be to buy another bike with them intact. the real problem is they are so brittle from age they will break very easily. so, even a replacement will not likely last very long.

there was a fellow forum member, jgscum, who made wooden fenders for a dahon classic. if the bike you have is in really nice condition it might be worth it to order or make some custom wooden fenders for the bike.

SKS also makes a "mini 16" for dahon's newer 16" wheel bikes. probably will not work without modification (if at all).

there are also bob tail fenders that only need to mount to the brake bolt.

By how much do they differ from the fenders used by other bikes with the same sized wheels?

Or how about these wooden ones for Bromptons?
