anyone one using zwift here?

I just started using it, 2 weeks. I love it. Not sure my nashbar fluid trainer is the best but it works. I have had great rides. I just did the 20min ftp test. Now I have a real baseline of my fitness. Like my club rides I am very good on sprints and not so go on hills.

What do you guys think of it?

I Zwift regularly - usually 6 days a week. I absolutely love it. I just started in mid-December.

Yes! I use it most days of week during the winter due to the wet weathers of the UK. Its been great and has great customer support if you'r having any problems.

I have been on since late December and loving it. Only 255 miles so far but it makes the trainer actually fun!
I like that you can switch up your routes in Watopia. I just did the Figure 8 Route yesterday for the first time.

I've been curious about Zwift but realized I don't have any compatible options, what are you folks using with Zwift?

I'd never heard of it either. Went to Home - Zwift and it looks good but . . . living in SoCal I haven't ridden a trainer since I left St. Louis 20 years ago!

Here is a good user manual for zwift. This will tell you what you need.

Computer requirements are pretty steep - I'd have to move my good PC down to the basement.

I have used it, in fact I was one of the beta testers almost 2 years ago. I did like the graphics but the physics of it I didn't care for so much. As I recall it seemed like the accelerations were unrealistic, that is with not much effort you could shoot away from another rider. Now I haven't used it in more than a year and maybe they have improved it.

There is an alternative called Tour de Giro which I still use occasionally. The graphics are clunkier and it's not real user friendly but it is more of a real race experience. A bunch of riders line up, some are real people and many are computer simulated riders. The clock counts down and you're off!

I am seeing an improvement on my hill climbs since I started. I have gone from the bottom 1/3 to the middle for hill climbs and I am not lying about my weight. lol

Zwift has become the answer for me. I previously had my bike on a dumb trainer and it was so boring, I just couldn't do it very long. I now Have a new smart tacx Vortex trainer that connect with my PC wirelessly and allows me to ride and compete with others up and down hills and also to ride in a paceline and draft others. It is a remarkable difference, and the resistance changes with the terrain. The difficulty is very similar to riding outside. I have done several rides up to 30 miles and about 90 minutes. I find that the competition allows me to get my heart rate up to 145-160 quite consistently and keep it there.

What I have noticed is that it has allowed me to do this 3-4 times a week and get my summer conditioning back and it has allowed me to keep weight down which is always a problem in the winter for me. If you are serious about really using your bike a trainer zwift makes it actually enjoyable.

Let us know how that translates to your spring riding.

I'm running a Win10 64 bit (requires 64 bit) 8 GB RAM Duo Core Quad workstation with an nvidia 1GB GTX750 Ti graphics card.
My trainer is a CycleOps JetFluid Pro, a Powertap G3 power meter and a Mio Velo HRM.
It's a Blast! Helps with El Nino.

My Asus laptop with with only 4GB RAM and standard Intel Video card barely meets the requirements but runs OK. I think my Frame rate dips to about 15FPS on medium quality with lots of other riders around, but it's definitely useable.

I got hooked a week ago and am ordering a Tacx Vortex Smart trainer. I have an old trainer and Zwift caps watts at 400 when you have undefined equipment. I only wish I had discovered Zwift earlier. I've only done 5 rides due to some travel but have ridden every day I was able to. Two of the rides were groups which makes time go by even quicker.

Anyone using it interested in creating a group of 50+ Bike Forum users on Zwift? I have a local group and actually had a conversation with someone that happened to be on at the same time. I wouldn't know how to coordinate that yet but riding with a group is a lot of fun.
