Surly LHT

This bike is for sale on Craiglist and it looks like an incredible price. Any comments on value or the bike itself are appreciated.

The price makes me think it's stolen.

Not a 54cm and not aluminum and not a suspension fork. Owner doesn't know what they have.

I realized that the frame is not aluminum, and that there is no suspension. I cannot tell sizes too well just by looking at a picture. However, the bike is listed on another Philadelphia C'list for $275 with the exact sme listing. I agree that the seller does not know what the bike is, and that is probably stolen. Too good to be true.

Maybe stolen. Given that the ad is on more than one CL at different prices, it likely is an attempt to trick someone out of their money. Gee I miss the days when all you got were e-mails from Nigeria that you had inherited a million dollars but you needed to forward some cash to some lawyers in Timbuktu . . . .

It's on the DE CL and the philly CL...but that's reasonable since the listed town is a stone's throw from PA. It's basically a far suburb.

Not saying it isn't stolen, no comment there.
Just saying the multiple listing isn't anything I would think twice about.

It's got "26.5" wheels -- are those the next big thing?

Clueless sellers can be the best deals. Worth checking out.

Could be stolen. It's worth checking bikeindex.org to see if there are any reported stolen bikes that match the description in the area. If not, then, that's a fantastic deal! Definitely not a 54cm frame...seller isn't sure what they've got. A Surly LHT will typically sell for $500-$1000 in my area (Seattle), sometimes even more depending on upgrades.
