no name Colnago - what IS this?
I wasn't certain which category to post this so here I am in general discussion. I wanted to ask the Colnago experts here if I can get some help identifying my bike! I purchased this roughly 13 years ago, however I don't remember exactly because, well, I can barely remember what I did last week either. The shop where I purchased the bike is no longer in business. I'm now selling the bike but can't find ANYTHING that identifies this model. No idea what it's worth in today's market. Mirage components, from the lower end of the Colnago lineup..but anyway, your guidance would be greatly appreciated!

It looks very similar to the VIP that I rode in '02-'04. The VIP was an Altec 2 tubeset.

I'm kinda shooting in the dark here - it resembles a "Dream Plus" from the 2001 Colnago catalog, but they don't show an all silver option. Maybe that means it's from 2000?
That serial number might be useful, but on my '97 Colnago the first is a number and indicates the year... maybe a letter means >= '00?
As for value, that really depends on your local market. I'd say 500-600 depending on how much someone likes it. Solid bulletproof Campy 9s on a pretty Italian bike is always a bonus.

These are both really sound opinions and align with when I purchased the bicycle. More time has probably passed since my memory permits on this one. I worked at the shop off and on through high school and college where I purchased the bike and the owner was a good friend. So it was a cash deal for me, never had a receipt or anything and the owner passed away a couple years ago. I'm selling to buy a mountain bike because the roads where I live are not great for a road bike. I have BMX roots so I would be more comfortable on a mountain bike anyway.

The VIP did not have a round TT either.

As an aside... I had a 2000 Bianchi M Alloy Pro (similar carbon fork, similar aluminum frame, but not angular tubing, just ovalized), which is why I'm thinking it was around that era ('99-'00-'01).
In any case, it's a sweet little aluminum frame that's decently light and reactive, you could hang a newer 10 or 11 speed groupset off it and turn heads at the coffee stop on local spins. (That won't happen with a similar level, but newer, GIANT or CUBE.)
It's a lovely bike and if you want to sell it you won't have any problems.

Is it sloping TT geometry? If it is, it looks a LOT like the 2004 Rapid...

Funny you say that because I just came across this 2004 scan that looks like may be a match! Exact same paint scheme. Are Colnago's colors/schemes ever repeated or always different year to year?

Definitely different paint options on the 2005 Rapid. I haven't been able to find any 2003 catalog info. Your frame is missing the "rapid" name on the TT, but everything else matches with that pic. If I recall, my VIP didn't say "VIP" on the TT like it shows in the catalog, either.

No Name? I think its a COLNAGO. I see nothing but COLNAGO all over the bike.
I had to look real close to see where COLNAGO wasn't slapped on.
My wife's bike is the same....
