lol that was pretty cool. Was interesting that the reporter's 2nd go around, vs. the Dutch bike, was something like 6 or 7 seconds slower than his 1st or 3rd races. And that 1st race I was like "ah come on, get your cadence up!!" 
Very interesting test indeed, though. They should have shown Iain on the BMC bike going 'round just to see what he's capable of.

Interesting for me would have been seeing Iain Cook do 2 lap trials on a top of line, mid, and entry level road bike all set for him.
But if they did stuff like that we might run out of stuff to talk about.

Most of us aren't and don't care to be cycling pros. Most of us have real jobs, they're how we paid for our bikes. There's a sub-forum on this site for that, and the 41 isn't it. This is the recreational road riding forum, not the racing one.

The guy is Eddy van Hooydonck, ex pro of some reknown (twice Ronde champion, invented bib knickers, retired when EPO appeared)
The woman is Leontien van Moorsel - ex pro of some reknown (on a good day could whoopass on Jeannie Longo). Leontien was kind of famous for wearing makeup during bike races - bright lipstick et al.
Anyway this is from a Dutch reality show where Leontien travels around challenging herself in other sports like bocce ball and water skiing... and showing off her fine figure and flirting with old men.

I don't think anyone's ever claimed that bike type is irrelevant, just that power overcomes the marginal difference between a $700 Trek and that BMC.

Same thing in photography, although probably more exaggerated. Give the latest and greatest camera equipment to an amateur and you're going to get amateur results. Give a cell phone to an a true artist and you'll get great photos. Give the latest and greatest camera to the artists and its even better. I hate it when people say "That's a great photo - what kind of camera did you use?"
