I have Goo-Gone. Sometimes it works, but often it does not.

Let it soak on the residue for a bit...I usually put some goo gone on a paper towel, then hold the damp towel on the sticky residue for 15-30 seconds or so, it will then start breaking it down and you can wipe it off.

Okay, I've managed to take off the size sticker, two warning labels and the shiny "Made in China" sticker. The only thing left on the bike is the LBS sticker, which I wouldn't mind leaving alone... for now.

The shop stickers stay put on my stuff. This policy was introduced after I got a 74 Raleigh Sports with a reflective "Koslow Bicycle" sticker on it and could trace it from it's new home (Maryland) back to Illinois. Archaeology for bike dweebs.

Reminds me... I saw a bike at REI that had two REI stickers - one said "www.rei.com" and the other "Seattle." The bike was on clearance. That made me wonder if someone who'd bought it online returned it to the Seattle store, who now sells it as a new product...

Anyone who knows the magic potion is welcome to share!
I've never had any problem getting glue off with mineral spirits or alcohol. Sometimes you need to soak a rag, set it on the glue and let it sit for a while to loosen it up. Rub/scrub with something with some texture that won't scratch the paint - like terry cloth... repeat.

But but but...I don't have any aircraft on my bicycles!

I really could care less about the stickers so I leave them on. The only bike I have that actually has stickers is my Bianchi EV Boron. The only sticker it has is the Boron Steel one. Personally I think that would be desirable one to leave if I sold it.

I just use a flat grinder and go to town, perhaps I need more patience....lol

I take the stickers off asap except the ones that say the name of the bike.
Hate extra stickers, reflectors, dork disks etc
Really cuts down on air resistance and I go faster....

IIRC, REI started in Seattle. The second sticker may have been referencing that?

That may be the case. I should go to another REI store and see what kind of REI stickers they have on their bikes.

I wouldn't really mind either way, but her question made me wonder what you usually do with them. Leave them on or take them off?
Better ,and way, way, smarter to leave the stickers on in case of a bike failure or other reason to sue for damages/injury.

When you remove the stickers the party being sued can claim that you modified the bike thus they are not responsible for damages.
