I really like it. Trying out a Selle Italia Flite Elite saddle right now - the stock saddle was putting to much pressure on the prostate area causing numbness but this one seems really nice so far. The shop has lots of demo saddles I can try.

I do think I either need to slide the saddle forward a bit or shorten the handlebar stem a bit - it feels like I'm reaching about 0.5" more than is comfortable but, that said, once I have 2 or 3 months of riding [or a hundred or two miles] the shop will do a free fit on me to make sure that everything is golden and will swap out anything that needs swapped for a better fit.

All in all I'm extremely happy with my choice to do business with them even though it cost a little more than if I went to REI .

I agree with this, as much as I want a Trek FX 7.7 I would not be able to lock it up or drag it here and there and have it be dropped, scratched, hit by doors.

Down for DAYS, a webstite... DAYS...

Pathetic.

And yes, I'm in IT at this level...
Well, not at a level that would stand for being down.

I'm in IT myself - but I actually own a company that hosts tens of thousands of individual sites .

It's not common but it does happen - generally companies will have their new site ready before taking the old one offline...

The places I've been at the business would freak out about an hour.

Last wholesale redesign at current place, we brought forward the tech refresh and set up parallel environment.
Flipped the DNS brought over some more recent data (minutes) and done.

Obviously this was rehearsed to death...

I can't think of 1 company I've been at where a day down would have been tolerated on an outward facing system. Particulalry during peak sales season..

Yep - that's how it's normally done.

It just means they sell bikes and they're relying upon somebody else [an outside party most likely] for their IT. It's also possible their marketing department thought being unavailable for a short bit would build interest.

Cinelli Super Corsa, full Campy Super Record or SRAM Red group set, Brooks saddle ... and fenders and a rear rack, since my racing days are long, LONG gone.

Even when I was wealthy, I balked at buying a bike that would cost more than my mortgage. I absolutely detest excess.

A hybrid with road gearing doesn't make sense to me. If this was my only bike I wouldn't go higher than a Specialized Sirrus Elite. If this was n+1, I'd get a Specialized Roubaix.

I've actually daydreamed along these lines somewhat and decided that if I could walk into the store and snag anything, what I would do is grab a top of the line cross country hard-tail, something with an air fork, and swap out the tires, bars, and stem maybe to turn it into my ideal hybrid.
