A little bit too small for me but good enough to ride around the neighborhood on with the grandson until he grows into it in a few years.

My father bought the frame new, and it was his daily commuter and weekend fun bike for years until he was no longer able to ride. I’ve had it in my stable since ‘94, but other than a short stint as a singlespeed, it was mostly neglected. In early ‘20, I resurrected it with a complete tear down and rebuild with Suntour Superbe. It’s a lovely ride - smooth and agile - but doesn’t get as much sunshine as it deserves.

I have posted my Black Chrome Schwinn Sierra here before. Now I have my dad's 1950 something Hercules. It has a Hercules branded hub and shift lever, so I believe that dates it to before Raleigh took over. He rode it regularly until a couple years ago.

@capnjonny, I also managed to find a 24-tooth cog for my 3-speed. It was good when I rode it in hilly territory. I moved it down to Florida where I didn't need low gears, but I didn't update it.

@SoCaled is correct, it's not important to take these threads seriously. I don't even care if someone posts pictures of modern bikes. I like 'em all.

@gthomson, I took input from several people on which colors are good for which month. But I don't remember. So here we are.

Well, I do have another Cannondale….a 2001 R400. My current favorite. A bit of a rehab and a few upgrades.

Love all these black Cannondale's, real beauties. I have a newer one so not appropriate for a C&V post but I do have this 1999 Specialized Hard Rock that is kindeve black? Made some changes to convert it to a 1x8 with some nice big comfy Billy Bonkers. Just finished it recently so not too much chance to ride it as the winter is settling in.

Here's one 'in progress'. Paint is done, waiting for clearcoat. I don't even know what this is, other than I bought it for $10 as a built up fixed gear track bike with a flip-flop hub. It had 'Flying Rhinos Cycling Club' and 'FRCC' on it (a club out of Michigan), so that's what I've named it. I'm thinking it's 1960s but I don't know. Looks like it started life as a road bike.

Here are two for the price of one, the left hand bike is a 1947 Raleigh RRA restomod I built as a tourist after buying an RRA frameset then finding out how much the original mostly unique to that model parts were and my 1997 Raleigh Royal which I have painted and badged as a homage to the former. I have since sold the RRA frameset to a collector of that model who already had six including what he said was the lowest known frame number post-war RRA in the country, the one I sold him was 150 lower which pleased him.

It's black. It's heavy. It was $10. 1984 Pro Tour made in Canada. It actually rides pretty well.
