Bike Maintenance: good book.
A couple of questions.
Can anyone recomend a good bike maintanence book, is there a widely accepted bike maintenance bible.
what is the furthest people will go, i.e do you repair wheels, replace derailers, change chainsets.
What do you recomend leaving to the pro's.

^^ that's about all you need. It's the Chiltons/Haynes of bicycling. Though it could use an update, what with all the new components that have come out (i.e. SRAM, BB30, UltraTorque, etc.)

I'm pretty sure harris will keep it going, and anyone who has ever used it wouldn't mind throwing in a buck or two to keep it active if keeping the site up ever gets to be an issue.

Only thing I don't do is frame prep. Haven't built wheels yet, but I would if the opportunity came up (I have trued my wheels).

Zinn is great if you have little or no mechanical acumen. I like Park if you kind already know what you are doing.

The book is great. So is Google, when you are having a tough time.
As for what repairs? No one touches my bike but me. I *might* have someone build my PowerTap wheel for me in a few weeks here.
