Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Talk about incendiary marketing - wewillnotyield.com/

Saw a Pearl Izumi ad on the inside back cover of Road magazine. It had a website listed:

https://wewillnotyield.com/

Lots of Satan talk, eh?

It's like a Critical Mass Anthem.

I do want to be the first to point out that in the slide about "9 billion roads", unless I'm crazy, they spelled states wrong.

I'll add that stuff like this seems particularly ill advised. Unless PI wants us all shot, run over, beaten up, or just plain hated, by everyone.

In the end they want you to buy their schwag, which is probably produced in China and shipped here via freighter and satanical truck.

Santanical? Everything you have, including your bike, came in a truck.

Bad marketers...
It looks like they're trying to sell to the Critical Mass riders (who I'm sure are the biggest buyers of PI stuff )...it makes me want to throw my PI stuff away and piss on it.

As something of a liberal econazi myself, I disagree (and thank you very much for bringing in some politics to BF. we sure need more of that!) I don't know anyone over the age of 18 who would agree with any of this BS.

This is just plain old crap, albeit this time being used by a big corporation to sell ****.

Personally, i just sent an email to info@pearlizumi.com expressing how impressed I am.

Looks like another run-of-the-mill-pipe-dream-change-the-world punk band website to me. It'll get the kids fired up for about 10 minutes before they move on to something else.

If you agree that this is crap, than you cannot be what I am defining as an econazi. I am talking ELF or PETA throwing paint on people.

The idea that internal combustion engines are evil being put on a website is almost ironic, considering that internal combustion was one of those inventions that pushed civilization forward into the information age.

Also, the thread is about a website calling big oil and cars products of satan and evil. I didn't bring politics into it. It was already about politics.

What the hell! This kind of crap pisses me off. I'm busting my ass working for the man for not a lot of money and they probably paid 6 or 7 figures to some idiot, or probably a group of idiots, to come up with this crap! Hell, I would have done it for less and it would have had, oh I don't know, some pictures of their product, people riding bikes, baby ducks being thrown in a wood chipper, Santa eating one of his reindeer, or some other cycling related crap. What a complete and utter waste. Bill O'Reilly would probably have an aneurysm if someone showed him some of this crap. Bikers are joining Al-Qaida or some other stupid crap.

(No baby ducks or reindeer were harmed during the creation of this post. Any similarities between this post and real world events is strictly coincidental. I don't want PETA on my ass!)

The did the same thing to runners a while back.. but just not on this level. pretty much that their slogan was "We are not joggers" pretty much saying unless you ran a sub 6 mile you were unimportant and not worthy of their products. Pissed alot of people off and I guess their back doing it again.

PI Bibs are gear for the revolution? I was planning to wear a polo shirt and chinos. Something casual that says, "Yeah, I am going to take it. Probably for just a bit more. Maybe a little longer than that." I just hope the revolution isn't televised. *sigh*

Does "Santanical" mean it was transported by tandem? Or that it was a Christmas present?

When did I get Old?
I can't make sense of any of that.
I see colors and images and some words I recgonize (though not in an order that makes sense to me).

No wonder I have such a hard time with cellpods, Facespacebook, and the WiiStation360 and Glue-Ray players.

I too sent an email to their info address. Cannot believe that a company that markets to cyclists would use such an inflammatory image considering the amount of road rage that already exists against cycling. Really will make people want to kill the messenger and never read the message.
