First time hybrid buyer, which is best for the money?
I've decided after not being on a bike for about 12 years that I'm going to buy a hybrid bike. I have a budget of £700 but have absolutely no idea if the specs on a bike are any good or not. I'll be using the bike for going to work and back each day (6mile round trip) and going out on random rides on the weekend to do some photography (I'll start riding further when I'm fitter). I went to my LBS today to ask about the Giant toughroad slr2 but when the guy checked the computer he said he had no idea when they would be in stock. Below are a few bikes I've seen online which I like the look of but as I said above I have no idea which will give me the best bang for my buck. I know I need to test the bikes first but I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on these or maybe advise on something with better specs in my price range. All I know is I'd like hydraulic brakes and rigid suspension.

I just picked up a Giant Escape 2 on Friday. This is the first time I'm riding in 35 years. It's a great bike for a good price. I paid $460.

For 699 pounds, that Boardman bike is head and shoulders above all the others you posted. This includes the frame, forks and all the components - way better buy!

The best for your $$$ is the one that feels right to you, the one that you love to ride.
