Ok. Looking at where you are at, it is a longish haul anyway. As for being a drag on the ride, you would still be climbing faster than me. I have to go up a gear just to get over a speed bump.

Sure. I'm sure the statute has run on some things.... Jacksonville was kind of a "playground" at one time. Much more respectable now.

I said Law as in short for Lawrence....not The Law. You could always wear a disguise, or maybe Raleigh / Greensboro would be far enough away

"Preening"? That statement could refer to any Lead Guitarist.

I think it would be a good time Robbie, we could turn it into a CL "treasure hunt" on the way there and back

Very cool your boys are good...reminds me of my junior high school band days when us drummers would congregate in the "percussion store room" for jam sessions that would last 15-20 minutes at a time.

Thanks for that!

Never heard Heart do that, but they were one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Amazing talent.

I'm recently smitten by Peggy Lee. This one (a rehearsal) reminds me of the Gena Rowlands character in A Woman Under the Influence ... in a good way:

Finally looked up Linda's bio on wiki and I'm pleased to see she had a lot more going for her than I gave her credit for. Apart from the singing, she didn't take crap from anyone and walked her own path.
Since we're devolving a bit, why not a lot. A high water mark for disenfranchised punks in the 80s.

Good call, I would encourage anyone who hasn't, do this. I based most of my posts off some of this. I have always been a fan, she's the real deal, Rock Star, period.

i have no idear. they were an early indie band with the right sound. cerulean only gets better with every playing and the debut album
was definitely solid. timing is everything and they may have been five years ahead of the curve. tragic.

As for the bicycle, it is a 1978 Nishiki Comp, 2nd from the top of the line. The brakeset is clearly not the Dia-Compe Gran Compe used on the top of the line Superbe but the Dia-Compe 500G specified on the Comp and International. However, it does not have the flat crown and 1/2 chromed fork of the International. The sloping crown and 1/5 chromed fork are indicative of a Comp. The low contrast between the chrome and paint suggest the Champagne colour option.

Regarding Ronstadt, I always enjoyed her songs but don't own any. While she has a marvelous voice, I finding her singing lacking in soul. Perhaps this is because when I heard her on the radio she was primarily an interpreter, as opposed to a singer-songwriter. Almost invariably, I prefer the original version, even if technically inferior. This has prevented me from buying her albums and listening to the less commercial album cuts, though I did borrow her What's New album to listen to her performing the old pop standards, which I think better suits her singing.
haha no. her strength/repertoire was in country rock/pop but i would have loved to hear linda cover dusty springfield's essential dusty in memphis (extended rhino version) track for track. my money would have been on linda.
my fave female voice of the 70's. now i hafta listen to 'someone to lay down beside me" but give her album heart like a wheel a spin or two. it may alter your impressions...
