Yes, I am retired from CA, but now work in Manila. Not wanting to bring my Nagos over because of the rough conditions, I stopped in a LBS to buy a fat bike and saw the Marin. Bought the Marin and Salsa Carbon Mukluk. Found another dealer with a Bianchi L ‘Eroica. Fortunately/unfortunately, it’s too small.

Tideace CX072 (Chinese Carbon Special)
The Open UP is literally the perfect bike for me, but I refuse to spend $3000 on a frame. Since there are no cheaper options, I decided to take a leap of faith and get this open mold frame for $550. It mimics the Open geometry to a T, and has the same tire clearances too. I copped an entire Ultegra 6800 Hydro groupset for $400 (Lucky! The guy just wanted to get rid of it), and the wheels for $300, and had cockpit parts lying around, so I only spent $1250 on this sub 19lb machine!
It's been an awesome bike. The geometry is the best: slacked out head tube to make it stable off road, road bike short chainstays in the back to keep acceleration peppy. With road tires it's just as fast as my road bike, yet when I throw my 650b 48c Panaracer Gravel Kings on it's extremely capable on dirt. I was initially skeptical about its durability, but it's shrugged off the past 5000 miles of rough roads and MTB trails easily. As for compliance/comfort, idk. I have no benchmark to compare to since this is my first gravel bike, but it's sufficient for my needs with the fat 650b tires.
My only complaint has been the proprietary seatpost. I had some issues with it slipping at first, but carbon paste and sandpaper solved that. And the aero profile is stupid on a gravel bike, and I'm sure a round seatpost would've been more comfortable. But for the price I paid, I'm not complaining.

Hows that for gravel'd? 302 miles on the Great Alleghany Passage. Pittsburgh to Cumberland, Maryland and back Sunday through Wednesday morning.

This is my gravel bike in the summer time with 28c slicks. In the winter I'll have 32c Vittoria Terrenos. This is just after 14 miles of packed dirt/gravel road.

My Tricross Comp
New to me, 2010 Specialized Tricross Comp in immaculate condition. I made an even swap with the "seller" for my 2011 Cannondale Synapse 5. I wanted a softer, more comfortable ride at age 62. Both bikes were specc'ed the same except the brakes which are tektro Mini Vs on this bike. The seller is a mechanic and we test rode each other's bike together and made the swap afterwards.
I am very happy with it.

Converted the Trek XO2 to 1x flatbar. 42x13-40 gearing.
Snappy and light. 42x40 is a little undergeared, but ok for the most part. Running 35mm G-One tires currently - think I will go bigger. Wide flat bars (640mm) feels really stable but on descents I need to not forget that it's a rigid carbon fork and pick the right line.

Got the Boone dialed in for the most part. Superteam 45mm wheels and Soma Supple Vitesse slicks (700x33) - this made the biggest difference over the stock setup. AliExpress chainrings 48/32 with 12-36 cassette gives me a good climbing gear. Was planning to go SRAM but the 105 setup works pretty well so I'm going to keep it like this for a bit.

I just got it this week. 2019 checkpoint SL5 with bontrager aerolus pro 3s.
Im primarily a roadie but I spend half the year in Chicago. I figured I may as well have a gravel bike to go just about anywhere in Chicago since it’s flat here and keep my roadies down where the mountains are
this was particularly sweet to pickup as I had purchased a 2019 (alloy) checkpoint new but had it stolen within 3 months.
feels good to have a checkpoint again. I love this bike
I’m hoping to use this to make my commute more enjoyable and go for longer bike rides and overnight bike packing trips.

Doing a conversion from flat (Answer Tapered) bar to drop. Chopped up to my fit.
Have another set of Deda Elimente coming to try out. Flare is too much on the cut/sleeved bar (not glued yet). May still run it
as I will be able to 'ride in the drops'. This is a big deal for me as I have an aftermarket 'part' list that Evel would give a nod to.
Built in 17' (I think). Mostly ride Speedbikes.
Retired to FL in 20'. Lots of good riding but sandy. My Suncoast from 50 to 98 has 1400 ft' of climbing in 28 mi.
and I hit 35-40, 3-5 times every ride. NOT FLAT!

You cut and sleeved those bars? Why? Just buy some bars with the flare and drop you want.
