Next Bike Recommendations
My wife and I have been riding for 4 years now. We ride for fitness and pleasure, meaning we travel with our bikes as we've fond it an excellent way to get around places and see the sites. We currently have Giant Anyroads, hers is the Liv model, and we are looking for the next level in this style. We love the style of these bikes, but we have outgrown them. we are looking for lighter and faster (carbon), prefer electric shifting, drop bars

Recommendations. Do it. Get better bikes. I may be the odd person out here, but I don't think brand matters at all. At a given price point most bike shop bikes are very comparable. One may have colors that you prefer. One may have ergonomics that seem the best. One shop might seem like the best to you. But that's about the only differences within a given price point. You can generally do a little bit better for your money if you get away from the largest bike brands, but that's not an absolute.

Fuji and then Giant ... as far as being the most cost-benefit positive for the name brands.
Everyone makes decent bikes which should serve you two. My only question would be ... more or less pavement than gravel/packed dirt? I like the Fuji Yari for gravel and the Gran Fondo for roads.

Both should get a professional bike fitting and higher spec bikes.
make sure the fitter really understands what you want from your new bikes
