Rapha Essentials Case - Inside Pics and iPhone Xs?
Anyone have pics of the inside of this, and does the smaller size hold an Xs? Their site refers to old 7/8s and plus sizes, they need to update descriptions for current phones.

Well, the small Rapha Essentials Case is listed as 150mm W, 90mm H, and 20mm D.
An iPhone XS is 144 x 71 x 8, so an XS fits (out of a protective case, at least.) It takes up about half of the internal volume.
The X series are waterproof, so... no real need to take up all of the bag space with a phone?

Right, the dimensions cut it close and who really knows how it's measured since it's just a soft bag as opposed to a rigid box with clearly defined dimensions.

I run a 0.35mm thick ultra thin polypropylene case on it, so I do have a case for scratch protection, but not one that would change the fitment equation.
I've never taken my phone with me on a ride, but should probably change that habit. Hence this bag.

I bought the small bag they have in Rapha archives for 17 bucks. Just removed all of the stuff inside. Have the iphone x with the thin plastic case your talking about. My iphone x with the thin case barely fits into the Rapha bag, and the zipper upon closure rubs against the side of the iphone x case. Now that bag is fairly new, and you could probably stretch it by stuffing it to the max with something. Then the iphone x with that very slim case might fit. I find this zippered case just excellent for a spare tube and some more items including a co2 canister pump. Just slides perfectly into one the rear jersey pockets. Its so perfect, I just ordered another one a couple of days ago. Like I said, 17 bucks in Rapha archives. Go for it.....

The phone case I use when I ride gets more comments than anything else carry. People are envious of its simplicity and watertightness. If/when it wears out, I have 99 more, all for about $3.99.

So woukd you recommend the small one then for the Xs or is it just a bit too tight for comfort?

I've had those fail before. I roll with something from this company instead.

I would go with the larger case. You could make the small one work [canyon in archives], but it's going to be a struggle.
I also bought one of those spandex material belts that go around the waste. Its like a 3-4 inch diameter spandex tube. There's slots every 6-8 inches or so, where you can slide something in. Not bulky. I used it a couple of times for the iphone x, as had quite a bit stuffed in the jersey pockets. Found it on Amazon. Search 'flipbelt' for running.

Lets move on to the scientific review with the small Rapha bag!!! Ziplocks are nice, and work for those muddy rain days, and Rapha has the waterproof bags also. I'll take the bag [because I already have two of the things]....! and I can just see myself grabbing that slippery zip lock, and the iphone plunges to its death as it smacks the concrete deck below! O my..
This is the 2nd Rapha bag I've bought that just showed up. The iphone x with the minimal flexible plastic case slides right in as if the bag was made for it. There's enough room for an ID card, some credit cards and some folding money. Good enough...

...."How much does it cost?.."
17 bucks.....its listed at Rapha's website, in the Archives Sales section, which is basically their clearance section..no doubt other vendors have similar products.. I buy Rapha now and then, as I like their no hassle no cost return process, and you can get someone on the phone when wanted, which is a serious plus in my book...

I don’t use anything for my phone. I have an iPhone 8+ in a Mophie Juicepack Air (battery case) and just put it in my jersey pocket by itself. The phone is rated IP67 so sweat and rain is not going to do anything to it. I’m sure the newer iPhones are the same or better.

Basically there are tons of this idea product on eg. amazon.. do a search on cosmetic wallets or makeup wallets.
Actually, another good place to look for these types of products are at photography supply shops, eg
PHOTO POUCHES & BAGS

Your iPhone x is water proof. If you're looking for something to toss stuff into, they Lezyne medium sack is about the size of a rear pocket and will be lower profile.

Be careful with that, because the salt in sweat (or salt water) will slowly degrade rubber seals. Eventually it leaks, and the salt will short out electronics (and corrode PCB traces).
