FS: 1982 Trek 720 touring - 22.5" frame - $500 OBO - Tucson, AZ
Hi everyone,
I bought this bike a couple years ago and never used it. I don't know much anything about bikes but I will answer any questions as best as I can. If there's any additional photos I should add, please let me know. Bike is located in Tucson, AZ. Available for local pickup or shipping. If shipped, I'll pay to have it boxed and seller pays for shipping. Thanks!

This is a fine bike. I have an 57 cm 1982 Trek 720 as well. One of the neat things about this bike is that it was designed around 700c wheels. The later 720s that had cantilevers were designed around 27 inch wheels. This bike, unlike the other 720s, can be converted to 650b.
The bike looks to be in great shape with some really nice parts. Someone will be very happy with this bike.
GLWS.

Surprised this hasn’t sold yet! The above mentioned suitability for 650b is a big plus here. Didn’t know the first year was built around 700c before they switched to 27” for them.

That's why I bought the '82. I haven't made the switch yet but I have rims, tires, tubes, and brakes. Now I just need to pick out some hubs and buy the right spokes. The lack of cantilevers makes this one of the very few grand touring bikes from the golden age of American touring bikes (the 80s) that can readily be converted to 650b.
And a free bump up for the OP's bike.

It's my size, too. I'm just not in a position to buy a bike. Someone should. It is such a great classic.

Wheel was bent beyond saving, according to bike shop attendants. "Extra" cable is FR brake that isn't hooked up.
Looks like someone from Las Cruces, NM is driving the 8hr round trip to pick it up this weekend. Woohoo!

Congrats on selling the bike. This is my 1982 Trek 720; same size but mine does not have all the original parts
