Windy here and hot again, over 100 all week. There are tons of leaves and pine needles to pick up but they're moving around. Maybe I can use the wind to my advantage.

Ah - when you said that you had three such cuts, I assumed that they were also from flats. Yeah, I wouldn't go tubeless at that rate, either... but, FWIW, I saw evidence of lots of punctures when riding those same roads. I wish I would have taken a pic, but one morning, there were a half dozen pin pricks surrounded by sealant wetness on just the visible section of tire. If you start getting more, keep it in mind.

Last not-cold day for the foreseeable future, but due to my back and the other regularly-scheduled joint ailments, no bicicleta vamo today for Velo Vol.

I really need to figure out a way to make the rear tire on my MTB tubeless.
I've pinch flatted the last two times I've ridden it, after 4 whole seasons of no flats at all even running tubes for the first 3.

The rim is, the tire isn't. It worked for a while but earlier this year it started leaking really bad and I ended up burping the tire going through a compression and it wouldn't re-seal out on the trail.
I think I might just need to re-do the rim tape. It's such a messy PITA though, since there's still some residual Stans in there.

First time riding all the way down jolly pond, it’s pretty rural near the end and not in best condition. I never saw any glass or nails, there were a lot of rocks but I have no idea what punctured it.

Those sadists made me give myself a shot. I hate needles, and that was the ultimate nightmare day. In hindsight, I should be pretty thrilled I was both out of it due to being concussed out of my gourd, and having a little taste of dilaudid running through my veins.

I have been known to give myself my own shots. Drives the nurses crazy. I don't have a problem with it.

Oh, I know - I've ridden Jolly Pond and the reservoir a number of times. I've never seen much by way of glass or nails, either, but I there's always a fair amount of grit in the winter. Maybe it's sharp stuff being put down by the DoT for traction, like crushed flint or that cherry stone stuff.

2) He's going hiking, not riding.
