I have a Greenworks 40 volt, and it's perfect for my limited saw needs. I bought that before the mower, otherwise I may have considered the higher volt Kobalt, simply because.. Well. Matchy-matchy is important.

The '86 GTI was pretty good for the 10 years I owned it, but it did have one memorable failure - fuel pumps. There was, IIRC a transfer pump in the gas tank, and another up front for the injection system. The transfer pump went out, which then took out the main pump. Same thing happened to the 91 Passat we bought for my wife. Turns out the giveaway was a buzzing sound. Anyhow, ended up having to have each car towed to the dealer, and of course neither was under warranty anymore. The Passat also had an electrical problem in the heater/ventilation panel - it would short out, leaving you with no fan or way to control the ventilation. We replaced it twice in 10 years of owning it.
By contrast, Mrs. GeneJockey's 2001 Toyota Sienna just keeps running, and running, and running. And my 2014 Dodge also just keeps running, and running, and running. Cars are so much more reliable now.

Not good. I assume this is one of those blood vessel proliferation things in the retina. Sorry to hear and I hope things stabilize.

I already have a kobalt 40 volt bush trimmer and weed whacker so matchy-matchy is very important.

For those little shrubs a sawzall will do. Unless you just need an excuse to get a chainsaw.

my condolences. I hope you weren't too traumatised by having to drive one of those.

The tree limbs were about 6 inches in diameter i got wore out cutting those with a hand saw in 2 feet increments.
Plan on cutting trees down on thursday. We want the fir trees gone. Apparently copper heads are really common in my neighborhood so trying to eliminate hiding places. Plus Amelia likes to go every where she should not.

I had a second-hand Taurus wagon for a couple of years. It was kind of rough, but I got it cheap. I remember repairing the radiator in the driveway during mid-winter. Brrr.

Understood. This stuff is so personal. Took me two/three weeks to work up the nerve to inject myself for the first time, even using the 'dart 'n click' syringes. However, once it sunk in that I had no choice (life sentence), I just got on with it. I was lucky: the first time I jabbed myself, I got it right so no pain.
Notwithstanding the unhealthy amount of drugs, I've not even had a legit cold in five+ years. The only likely affect along those lines I've seen is (1) a skin fungus several years ago, and (2) fungus in a couple fingernails now. I think my body produces enough anti-whateverbodies for two people.

This evening's activity: walking (dumb)
It's sooooo sllloowww compared to cycling. Takes forever to get anywhere.
There was a cyclist doing laps there. He was listening to music. Not in his ear, but out loud, like a motorcycle. wut Is that a thing now?
Pre-hydration: 20-30 gulps under the faucet. No measurement available.
No water taken or needed during the 1.5 hour walk.

I was invited to a ride at the coast 70 miles from home. I declined even though it's going to be 105 here tomorrow. I'll try to get up early and ride here.

easiest tire change ever. Tire popped right off the rim with one tire lever, and my thumbs didn’t even get sore putting it back on.
