9 speed cassette on 10 speed shimano hub?
I have a nice set of handbuilt wheels with a shimano 10 speed cassette. The hub might also fit 11 speed cassettes, I can't remember for sure. Anyway, I would like to move these wheels to the bike I am riding the most, which has a nine speed cassette and I am happy with the nine speeds. So, can I put the nine speed cassette on the 10/11 speed hub? And in reverse, put the 10 speed cassette on the nine speed hub? Spacers needed?

Until 11 speed, 8, 9 & 10 speed FH bodies were the same length.
You ADDED a 1.8mm spacer if using a 10 speed cassette because the "stack" is actually a bit shorter than 8 or 9.
Longer 11 speed bodies need additional spacing if using fewer cogs.
A bit of Googling on How many on how many will return lots of results.

So, I will try moving cassettes. It is an 11 speed DT Swiss hub that I want to fit the nine speed cassette on. It does have a spacer for the 10 speed cassette. Will search for what I might need for spacers. The first hit says a 1.85 spacer.
I take it that the 10 speed cassette will fit on the nine speed shimano (bontrager) hub.
