I'm not a real fan of Electric bikes :
And I bought this cargo bike for utility purposes.
For my use, in the very remote place I live, there's something absolutely unpleasant : you must go to a Bosch specialist for anything concerning the motor and all the electric system.
I had a failed battery : I had to go with the whole bike to the shop to make a warranty swap.
Unfortunately, I cannot make the round trip with the batteries. Luckily the guys at the bike shop recharged my batteries while working on the bike.
To carry this monster I should buy a pick-up.... Which is absurd to my mind.
1) I had many problems with the rear rack : it's made of aluminum and not as sturdy as it should be. I think they are from Racktime. My first problem was to attach a license plate : those mandatory in France are really way too big.
Since it's screwed to the rear rack, it was the first thing to fail. Aluminium is really hard to repair !
The license plate was not really a problem, except that the rear light also felled...Since it's all in on part.
2) the safety reflectors are glued with some two-sided foam rectangles (probably from 3M). With a few tight maneuvers they all were broken within a few months.
3) They should have used a bit of blue Loctite on the bolts, so as not to loose them.
All in all I'm really satisfied by this utility bike, these are just some little annoyances easily correctables from my point of view.
I sent a mail to Riese & Muller, in english, without any answer : that's not really what I expected from a serious German bike maker.
This is so different from Santos : whenever I ask something, they answer within 72 hours.
