I'm gonna glue my Cygolite headlight mount so that it doesn't swivel. Massively annoying when I was riding dirt/gravel roads in total darkness this morning and having to constantly straighten it.

Puting a bit of honey in the swivel will act as a heavy damper and keep it from moving easily but still allow adjustment. Doesn't last forever, but is easy enough to wash off if you don't like the results.

Might be worth a try before you commit to a fixed position.

i had a similar annoyance with my magicshine, my solution was to unscrew the bull**** rubber strap mount, then replace it with a hose clamp that i drilled a hole in for the screw

I do care and it pisses me off that you weren't given antibiotics from the beginning to prevent this. Good thing this didn't happen to me or that surgeon would be facing a malpractice lawsuit.

Bought something with gears.

Every time someone farts, out comes a round of antibiotics. A simple wisdom tooth/teeth extraction does not necessitate antibiotics. As someone who works with these, they are overused and completely abused. And lets face it while we are talking about this, you won't win a lawsuit if you get a small infection after having your wisdom teeth out. You have gaping holes in your mouth. Gauze and whatever else gets put in there. Eventually you eat some type of food.....you see where this is going? You follow the instructions that they give you, and they even tell you that if you don't, you could get an infection.

This stuff is not rocket science.

So today I took my first ride on my Kilo WT and honestly I wish I had discovered fat frame fixed gear bikes a long time ago. It's just such a pleasure to ride compared to anything else I currently own or have ever owned before. Big comfy 32C tires and whatever else is going on with the geometry of the frame that has me more upright on the bike. I tilted the drop outs up just a tad and I've been hanging onto the V brake levers as sort of pseudo-pursuit handles.

I just dig it. I'll post pics when I'm done part swapping.

Yeah, blame the victim. Good job.

The victim. What victim? It is a small infection after a small oral procedure. These things happen. Antibiotics need to be saved for when people truly need them. We do not need to build up a tolerance to them unnecessarily.

Gonna have to agree with you. I basically didn't eat the whole time I was infected, so I'm not sure what I could have gotten stuck in there, but **** happens, and I got infected. It hurts, but it was an understood risk going into the operation. I got the antibiotics when I actually needed them, so that's all that matters.

Yup both sides. I think all the pus has drained, so it doesn't look like I'm trying to hide tennis balls in my cheeks anymore, and I can actually close my mouth now.

Pain has all gone away, except when I'm rinsing the holes out, so I'm happy. Now I just need to finish the antibiotic regimen and I should be good to go.

Re: Bikes. I'm putting some 38cm FSA omega compact drops on the Dean because I like narrow bars, and I'm gonna put the 40cm Wing pros on the steamroller. With the exception of the mountain bike because I didn't know about that dirt drop life, Those bars will have gone on every single bike I have owned since I bought them.

Today I am researching how to remove a stuck seat post on a Langster steel I acquired yesterday. My first SS/FG once I determine what rear wheel will go on it and if after the post problem is resolved.

Thought the bike was a decent price despite the condition of no stem, HB, wheels or saddle with post. Well part of the post, 12" in the ST! I have everything but a rear hub so it should come together once the post is out.

Well, that's what I get for showing some sympathy. Next time, I'll tell you to quit whining and htfu.

Sympathy is much appreciated, but I'm not gonna go out and sue because I didn't get antibiotics right after the surgery. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Actually, you are supposed to start taking antibiotics about 3 days prior to the surgery for them to have any prophylactic value. It's like not putting on a condom until after you've had sex. Anyways, I'm just a whiny old man who likes to rant about things, so you needn't pay me any attention.
