Yes, that's correct - 2 miles. Women at a roundabout this afternoon was supposed to stop, but didn't, and I ditched the Domane to avoid collision. She kept going, but I fell pretty hard and trashed the rear derailleur hanger and cable, and bar tape. Pretty sure I also cracked a rib, otherwise ok. I just dropped the bike off to have it looked at. Unlike the Giant, I don't think I damaged the CF frame, but if the Di2 rear derailleur itself is toast, the whole bike may be done for. Anyway, this will certainly impact mileage going forward. And at least the 2021s are out (looking for silver lining in all this).
That's a real bummer. Get well soon.

Keep it up and you'll hit that before the halfway point. Nice work.

I'm going to be off from riding for the rest of the week, this is the first break from riding Feb 28. My legs should feel strong when I get back.

Stays cloudy most of the time , you never know when a thunderstorm is going to form . I’ve been lucky to be able to ride for eight mornings straight . We’ve mostly been getting the rain in The evenings and at night , so I have to wait for the roads to dry out the next morning to ride .
Since switching to my single speed cruisers , I’m way past what I thought I’d be this time of the month .

Trying to psych myself up for a night ride. I spent most of the day moving steel in a hot warehouse. Had to get an early start so no ride this morning. Feeling pretty worn out.

Since I’m currently without a bike, I made it to the gym the past few days, Still hurting from the fall, but I will recover, and probably better I’m off the bike for a bit. The bike shop called and found the parts to put the Domane back together, which is good news, but it won’t be ready until next week late.....So keep riding and I’ll catch up down the line.

I may have to put some lights on my bike and plan a few night rides . Temps predicted for next week in the upper 90’s , that’s actual temps , not heat indexes. It’ll be over 100 heat index .
The evenings lately have been crazy humid and hot lately . I’m not sure it’d be much better after dark .
edit : plus it’s usually raining in the evening, like it is right now .
Our weather has become northern Florida . T-storms every afternoon or evening.

I really enjoy riding at night. Cooler temps and less traffic are two big pluses.

Heading out for one right now, as a matter of fact.

I haven't been on a bike in 10 years, and then it was an old, heavy, Schwinn MTB. I bought a cheap road bike last week, and so I am trying to ride it some. Should get 100 this month at least? We will see.

July 5 - 11.1 miles

July 7 - 12.5 miles
July 9 - 13.1 miles
July 11 - 11.8 miles

MTD - 48.5

I wouldn't say that I like riding in the middle of the day heat but I do it to avoid people on the trails. There are a lot less people out there when the temps are over 90 degrees, I might see about 10 people then.

I'm tempted to because of the temperature but tend not to as it seems most of our area is under some kind of construction so potholes big and small are very common and sometimes difficult to see. I have done a couple in the early evening with the last leg getting pretty dark but there are always several clouds of noseeums at dusk.
