I emailed him with a link to Blue Book asking what his bottom dollar was. He responded " I don't negotiate by email sight unseen" so I responded I don't drive an hour and a half to look at a bike I know I am not going to pay anywhere close to asking. He also only had one pic and listed it as a 20 speed but I knew a 2017 was going to be 5800 105 11 speed. I thought it should priced around $11-1200 and would be what I would pay for that if truly in perfect condition.

I just noticed he took the ad down so it will be interesting to see if it goes back up with a better description and lower price.

About 1 year ago I bought a 2018 CAAD12 w/105 for $1350. The local dealer was moving his last few. I love the bike.

Hi all, I'm planning to buy my first Cannondale, the Supersix EVO 2020 Ultegra, but I'm going a bit crazy trying to find the component measurements as they don't seem to exist anywhere on Cannondale's site, user manuals, or forums. Assuming CADs are relatively standardized across models, does anyone know what crank arm length and handlebar width for size 51cm frame would be? Thanks.

My recommendation is to call Cannondale. They have experts that will provide all in information you require.

Thanks for the recommendation. I bought the 2.5 tape after reading the 3.2 color wears off at times plus thatI wear gloves.
Very comfortable tape, grippy just right, yet soft.

Thanks for the recommendation on these. First ride on them tonight and feel very good. Even going from 23 to 25 I noticed a lot of difference in ride comfort on the same expansion cracks. Handling is a bit different, just need to adjust a bit. If I can talk my wife into new tires, I will order 28’s, put that on rear of each CAAD and the 25 on front

First tire I put on twice, knew they were directional but still got it confused. I haven’t seen a directional tire since mud grips in the 70’s.

I put Mavic Kysrium Elite USTs on my CAAD 12 and it's the best mod I've done to a bike in 40 yrs. of riding. Lighter, faster and more comfortable. Initially I was a total skeptic. No more.

For all you CAAD lovers... I know this is a "cyclocross" bike, but do any of you use this as a pure road bike? Looking at a CAADX for roughly $500, which is enough to make me look at it. I was considering a Specialized Allex or a Trek Alpha - which are more pure road bikes, but I like the disc and other options the CAADX has. I probably wouldn't use it for off-roading too much, so probably mostly road/blacktop and long trips use. Any input is appreciated, thank you!

I did similar to turn an alloy Focus Mares into a commuter. Road tyres and gearing is all thats really required. I went from 46/36 28T 35c tyres to 50/34 30T 28c tyres and it rolls fine and dandy

If I’m not mistaken, there was a recall on some CAADX models for faulty forks.

So, I'm coming from a 2006 Trek Pilot 5.9, carbon, Dura Ace. Road the crap out of it. Loved the bike, specifically the geometry. Then I had kids, got fat again, too many weekends on travel baseball, then COVID. Got back on my bike and old Cyclops trainer bike?! ( I can do a separate post on a blowtorch and old pedal removal) lost 15lbs, and, as we are known to do started researching the last few months on the encyclopedic knowledge that knows no bounds on the internet. I landed on the CAAD13 - had always wanted one. I figured, worst case, I ride it, its too aggressive, I'll flip it and move on. As of this week, 100 miles. Drove 90 miles with my kids to a store owner who opened on holiday weekend in the rain to help me out. Holy f*$k. I'm middle aged, I work hard and I cant say enough good things about my CAAD. I know the seat stays are blasphemy to those who think that side-on perspective views matter more than product advances. I repeat - I loved my Trek. In my humble, middle aged opinion, my CAAD blows my Trek bike away - but it should right? The CAAD stiffer yet more comfortable, fast, great brakes for our FL wet weather, did I mention stiffer yet more comfortable. I have been riding the same loops for over a decade. The difference is noticeable. good thing my kid already chipped the paint.

Here’s my CAAD 9 that’s almost complete. Just need to install the rest of the 11sp group, but the current tune on the 9sp is so good that I’ll keep it installed for a bit longer.

CAAD4 Saeco. I have owned (and loved) this bike since purchasing in 1998. Still running the original Campag Record 9 speed.

Had my frame crack on my CAAD12 between the seat post and top tube. Luckily Cannondale replaced it under warranty. My original bike was black with blue accents, this one is silver with black and green accents. At first I was not too excited about getting a silver bike, but I must say, it has grown on me!

Can anyone tell me if Caad 5 frames (2004 r600) can fit a 28c tire? I'd probably ride 25 most of the time, but having the option to put on 28 might be nice. I'm gonna assume it's not possible though

My CAAD 3 and CAAD 8 both would fit 28mm tires with Slice forks. I assume that CAAD 5 would also fit 28. Although I preferred running 25mm tires for more clearance.

My CAAD5 fits 700x28 Conti GP5000 just fine. There may even be room for 30c tires, but I haven't tried it... Yet.

I have a CAAD3 with 25's on it with more room to spare than I would have thought. A Conti GP5000 in 28 would be amazing.

Excited to join the CAAD club. Ended up picking up that CAAD 5 (2004 R600) for $300. Came with a bunch of extras like a tri bar, pump, saddle bag. I'll probably sell the tri bar though.

-Truvativ Elita SR triple crank (52/42/32) -- (sounds like this Truvativ ISIS bracket will be rather inconvenient to remove)

Might ride it for a while before I take it apart but I'd ultimately like to get it sandblasted and then ride the raw aluminum look with decals or paint it blush like the specialized SL7. I'll include the two inspirations at the bottom of this post. I'd have to grab some black brakes, RD, crankset and maybe shifters as well (does Shimano make black FD?). There's a black 11-speed 6800 Ultegra crank for sale locally for a decent price, so I may have to jump on that.

I like the red, but yeah, a bare Al with a black Group would look sweet.

I had a similar Truvativ triple crank on my old Schwinn and didn't care for it.

After selling my CAAD10 in 2018 I've always wanted to be back in the cult. I just finished putting this CAAD3 together and I'm happy to be on a CAAD again.
