I think I have pulled a Benotto 5000 out of the skip!

I really want to post pics to show the bike - literally came out of a skip yesterday - with 2 other frames and wheels.

benotto stamped with wires running inside the frame.

In great restorable shape - brakes and gears working - tyres are toast.

How can I show you want I have found?

I going to give it a clean up today and see how it looks. I'm sure the blue was the team colours.

Nice.

Pics of the other stuff?

It certainly looks like a 5000, hard to give an evaluation but it is probably quite valuable, at least $500 for the frame/fork/parts as it sits.

Possibly more, depending on how you intend to sell it.

International eBay sale might be the best way to go.

A 55cm frame is a desirable size as that is the size that fits the average American male.

I will post a Photobucket link as soon as I have 10 posts - I have 2 other frames wheels and accessories - a mix of Weinman, Shimano, steinglight, dia-compe, Cinelli, Ambrosio, Araya, Nisi, Gipiemme.

Not sure what the frames are , one has really long drop outs and very sculpted tube join detail.

One frame is painted with Barnwell - might that be the club team name (Australia), I can't find any info.

I agree that international eBay could be the best way forward - but shipping from Oz will come into it. I would prefer to sell the bike as a whole - but money talks. I know there is a mad keen bike guy in the local town - I'll drop in and see him - he has old bike frames all over the front of his building - just don't want to get screwed on the sale price.

Lots of parts pulled from the skip

So here is a heap of photos of everything pulled from the skip.

I can't identify the other blue frames - I guess these were his general training bikes - they are heavier than the Benotto. Lots of big name parts.

Is Barnwell a known name or is it likely to be a club name?

Hoping to find worthy homes for everything.

Cool.

Your photobucket link does not work, try www.imgur.com

It is definitely a Benotto 5000

If you were somewhere in America you could probably get $1000 for everything as it sits

I think that if you post up the frame/fork/headset/shifters/stem you'd probably get $600-ish on international eBay

Amazing that all of this was in the trash

You might even want to try frame/fork/headset/shifters/stem for a Buy It Now of 1000$USD and have the option for a best offer.

That way, if you have a couple of interested parties (and you will) you can leave it up for a couple of days and see what happens.

You are in a great position as you have nothing to lose and everyone is looking for a project while Covid is keeping us all indoors.

Just noticed that it says "Lucky Newbie" under your user name, that is absolutely perfect.
