For those with concealed weapons permits....
How do you carry on your bike? I'm thinking shoulder rig with a loose t-shirt over it. Not the easiest to get to but better than nothing. Ankle holster seems as though it would be clumsy on a bike. Any thoughts?

I don't carry on a bike. But if I did, I'd go with a subcompact in a pocket holster in a jersey pocket (if wearing a jersey) or cargo pants pocket (if commuting). I ride with a person who uses a small bag strapped to the top tube just behind the handlebars. They leave it unzipped for quick access. Ankle holster sounds uncomfortable, and concealment would require long pants.

Kinda depends on how you ride, roadie in kit, commuter in street clothes, mtbr in baggies...and the size/weight of the weapon, and the specific laws regarding concealment where you are riding. In most areas, the concealed weapon may never inadvertently (or advertently) show or be evident, as in having its shape visible through fabric for example . A small fanny pack can work across these modalities. Obviously, if you stop to and leave the bike for any reason, the weapon needs to go with you.

Think I'll give the fanny pack rig a try. I can swing it around my back out of the way of my ponderous gut. If that doesn't work I can try the handlebar bag. Though I believe I would rather have the pistol on me than on the bike. They are working on legalizing open carry where I live and if that transpires then a shoulder rig will probably be my choice.

Y shaped brackets let your rifle go across the mountain bike bars ..
Elk hunters use Mountain bikes in that Season.
cannot imagine needing to bike tour, packing heat,* .. next state you need a different permit, anyhow.
*Though in her book, 'Full Tilt, Ireland to India by bike', Dervla Murphy says she did , in Afghanistan
she did show them she was not defenseless.. in spite of being a woman on a bike, .. then.

I prefer a small revolver or Bersa small 9mm in a handle bar bag with extra clips and ammo in the bag. The bag would have to be left at least partially open for quick access.

Most states recognize another's license. Oregon doesn't recognize anyone's, but several states, including Idaho recognizes Oregon licenses.

Of course, nothing about the OP's question imply that the weapon would have to be used while riding... Some folks use bicycles to get to/from places... kind of like cars.

That aside, while riding a horse, you can generally lift your hands from the reins, steady your hand, aim and shoot. While riding a bike, I'd imagine you wouldn't be able to remove both hands from the bars for long, especially if you're trying to shoot at something that might shooting back at you.
Wait a second...well there ya go:

Taurus 738, pocket or waist band holster. I have also carried in the handlebar bag to and from the indoor range. I typically prefer the cross draw waistband holster.
