My Friend, I am searching the same rims with the same drilling for a 1978 bicycle; from the informations (for sure not exhaustives) I got, I think that module E had only 36 or 40 holes drilling, while module E2 also had 32 drilling. the philological problem with this is that module E2 were produced since 1979 a year later than my bicycle.
Do you or any one else have further or different informations?

The Module “E” set that I have are 36 hole. Came off an ‘83 bianchi. They aren’t for sale, just wanted to confirm that they were made in 36 hole

Nope, but I have a 27" x 1-1/4 MA-2, 36 hole, polished, in excellent condition. I tried to sell it a while back, but no takers. I know it's not what you are looking for, but you could have it for the cost of shipping. Probably on the order of $25 to $30 via Shipbikes. Please advise if you'd like to see a picture.

Thank you Dean51 but is not for me.
In fact I already have a couple of 700c 36h "module E" that will soon match a pair of FT Bologna titanium spindle sealed bearing hubs, but I also have 32h campagnolo high flange hubs waiting for their 700c clincher rims so that's why I am searching.

Indeed I think that in 1978 beside Mavic module E also Super Champion Gentleman and Rigida al1320 were availables. I am quite sure that all these models had the hook for high pressure tires, had single eyelets, were some like 19/20mm wide and were only drilled 36h or 40h.
those rims accept 19-28 wide tires
before 1975 some hooked rims existed (Mavic demontable for example) but were wider and accepted wider tires (28 or more)
if that is true the philological correct match for a 32h hub racing bicycle pre-1975 will be one of the many tubular (sprint) rim
