Starvation Lake on the Northern Tier
Just wondering if others have stayed at Starvation Lake.
It's 10 miles east of Colville, Washington - maybe 2 miles off the highway.
It is one of the loveliest, hidden-away campgrounds I have ever visited.
There was a soft carpet of pine needles to sleep upon.
And the quiet was delicious - esp. the next morning on the lake.

Are the Bacons still running their bike hostel just east of town? I stayed there five years ago and it was one of the memorable nights on my trip, on a cold rainy day. It was snowing on Sherman Pass when I rode over it.
