Recommend me a seatpost with 25mm setback.
I need some help. I'm looking for a 27.2mm aluminum seatpost with two bolt micro-adjust with 25mm (or more) setback. There doesn't seem to be much selection, especially at any good price. The VeloOrange model with 30mm setback seems odd. The tilt and setback are not independent.
I've found the Nitto 83, and also the Profile Designs 1/25. I've seen the Easton A70, but that's only 20mm setback. Does that Profile Designs model look robust enough for off-road gravel riding?

Nitto S83 is the one.
Never heard of Profile Designs
The Easton is good, but it's more like 15mm of setback.
Older Campagnolo nuovo record seatpost 2 bolts are good.

Bontrager XXX available with 20mm setback.. if that would work..., but it's crazy expensive.

My only issue with the Nitto is that it seems to have a high profile. The very top of the rail bracket sits fairly high above the rails themselves. I have a leather Selle Anatomica saddle I'm testing, and I was a bit concerned that, with sag, the leather might hit the top of the post. I guess the only way to know for sure is to order it...to try it.

^^ this^^ Of course some saddles rails contribute to the lack of serback , so that's another factor..

Fizik Cyrano R5

$53.99 CAD at CRC
It looks good, it comes with a rubber ring and the adjustments are easy to do: there's a thumb screw at the front for the tilt, which also locks the saddle in place, and a screw at the back to hold it in place.
Be very generous with grease when installing it, especially where the part (the matte gold part in the picture) that tilts the saddle comes in contact with the seatpost.

Money no object? Specialized CG-R. I'm not a big fan of suspension seatposts, and I suppose the CG-R technically isn't a suspension design, but it's amazing at reducing everything but the biggest pavement flaws. Zipp Service Course has a nice 20mm setback post, but it's also got some ugly laser etched logos on it.

Edited to add: I wouldn't trust that Profile Design post. It looks like it shares the same design flaw as the VO -- the setback and angle are not independent. The VO is NOT 30mm (maybe 20mm at best, I own one).

Edit: I think the post is actually only an 18mm setback. "Layback on the Cyrano is between 18mm or 25mm, depending on whether it's measured from the centre of the top or bottom clamps"

That post is very interesting. The bottom clamp is longer than the top clamp, so I would be able to jam the seat all the way back to the end of the rail's travel, and that oversized bottom clamp would provide support. As it is now, I must leave at least a 1/4 in space so as to not bend the rails, per the instructions.

I, too, own a VO 30mm set back post and just measured the set back at a true 30mm. Have a Brooks Professional saddle on it, set level. Seat tube angle is 73 degrees. Also have used my Turbo Saddle and get the same measurement, a true 30mm of set back.

It is also rated for heavier riders 215+ and for off-road. Setback is 20mm.
VeloOrange also has the Grand Cru Long Setback Seatpost with 30mm at less cost.
I use the Nitto S83 for its bottom access fine adjusting and it comes in a shorter length. It was also the closest to my old Campy NR seatpost. The Nitto is better finished thast the old Campy and is adjustable from the bottom while the old Campy adjusted from the top with a small spanner wrench. The Nitto works well with my Brooks Cambium. Another personal plus is it came in anodized silver.

+1 on a Cyrano seatpost. I have the R1 but basically the same clamp. Bike24 has a pretty great price R3 would be a step up from the R5. Not for weight weenies tho.

Measured clamp center to post center. One of us is mistaken, and I know it isn't me. lol
Seriously, I am looking at it right now and it measures 30mm. No tilt in saddle.

The photo in the article makes it look like they are not centered on top of one another.

If there is a tiny difference, that's nowhere near 7mm
