Some interesting things for me happened over the past two days.
Machka did her part yesterday in video that explains what she understood and saw during my hospital sessions 14 months ago. She played great movie star and hopefully the video will help the Brain Injury Association of Tasmania explain how things might work for the family of a sufferer.
Then the woman representing BIAT suggested I might like to be a member of their board and use some of my journalistic experience and knowledge to help the association to follow its roles. Not hard to for me to say "YES!" to that.
Then today, the guy who runs admin of the golf club I go to for two hours a week as part of my recovery process asked if I might be interested in assisting with production of their newsletter and website. Again, not hard for me to say "YES!" again.
Neither are payable, but the work I do can be put together to seek any other payable jobs and get me back into stuff I still like to do.
Then, I got really sad news in my phone from Audax Australia, that one of the outstanding Victorian life members whom I also knew, Peter Moore, had died.

Farmer tan
I have one complete bike and another frame and fork packed into a single bike box, with room to spare. Once I become certain all is well, I will cut it down, both length wise and height wise, and tape it up. The trick will be to leave the roll of gorilla tape inside. I have some ideas.

Finally stopped and talked to the group of riders I've been seeing on my way to work Tues and Thurs, hanging out after their early ride. They were friendly and old and I actually knew people in common with one of them, from racing 35 years ago in MA. Scary thought, but I suppose I'm going to have to test my legs with them one of these mornings.

I have a tire question. It actually involves tubeless tires/rims. But it's not bike related.
The kids' car rear tires both have slow leaks. They are way too slow to isolate. One drops about 5 PSI/week. The other a little less. It's an old car with old rims and new tires. I try to get the kids to just pump up the tires at WaWa every 2 weeks when they get gas, but they are slackers so dad ends up doing the job. Sad.
I am suspicious there is just a slight crack or leak at the rim/tire interface but again I can't find it.
I know there are products sold at Auto Parts stores that seal leaks, and I am guessing these are just fancier versions of the goop people run in tubeless bicycle tires.
I am inclined to try this, any pros/cons??

No. Just don't
I know folks that work in rust belt areas, and rim maintenance is an art into itself. Have it done correctly, or top it off every week.

I have been off the bike since Sunday afternoon, and will not have another chance til Wed. at the earliest. By then I will have migrated from temps in the mid 80s to temps in the 105 range, with high humidity. But I will be home! A month is a long time to be away.

I have reached the point of removing things completely, and transferring others into my carry on bag. Weight issues. There is still lots of empty space in there that I'd like to fill with something light.
This has been my returning home life for the past 17 years. Not always bikes, but always weight. My packing to leave generally takes 3-5 partial days to get it right. I'm ready to retire from that aspect of travel. Thus the no more bikes rule.
