Well then you've learned one thing. Most C&Vers (Jim included) are EXACTLY who you want to go look at a bike for you. The OP never once said he was planning to bid on it AND if you read what Jim has said THE BIKE IS FOR SALE. If the OP is serious he can contact Jim and while I can't speak for Jim I'm willing to put money on the line that the OP would have preferential treatment. Jim is one of the good guys here. That bike could just have easily wound up in Japan or Europe or anywhere else never to been seen again. He went down there to help out this awesome forum and that's exactly what he did.

If you are serious about buying this bike PM Jim, IT'S FOR SALE. Sheesh.

I don't buy that for a second.

Someone will end up with this bike and love it to pieces.

Life goes on, really no biggie.

Heck, I already bought a different bike for my son that I knew about before I ever set eyes on the Colnago.

There's always another bike folks.

So the real lingering question concerns the other goodies.

Any 8 speed Record rear derailleurs in the pile of stuff that came with the bike?

well I was the high bidder and I could care less he grabbed it up.......... like others have said the OP never bothered to contact the seller but yet kept asking us question after question I had no problem getting in contact with the seller and he was helpful ....... and I am pretty sure there was quite a few posters on this thread waiting for the auction to wind down just so they could bid also

Finders keepers, losers weepers.

This thread and some of the individuals in it remind me of the Craigslist posters ranting in all caps about a bike they intended on buying but were beat to the punch...when the bike is relisted at market value.

Good score, Jim.

Read the thread..... The listing on ebay is a fraud.... The bike is a fake.... The seller has no clue.

Yes, I am guilty of egging you guys on. And questioning everyone skepticism.

And in the end the bike was real. The seller who didn't know what he had is happy, miamijim is happy.

I question the attitude and rush to judgement of the forum.

Didn't mean to infer that you said anything negative. Just the general flow of the thread was toward a fraudulent ebay listing.

I find a lot of misleading info, par for the course on the interwebs, on Bikeforums. The appraisal thread is ridiculous at times.

I had no interest in the Colnago. The OP did. And coming here to ask about it was probably not in his best interest, And that is sort of disturbing to me. As is the everyone out for himself, screw your neighbor type comments. I come here to get away from that stuff. But it is prevalent everywhere.

Let me say it again. I came here for help because I want a Calnago but will not be able to afford one because most of them are out of my reach price wise. I saw this one on ebay at a low bidding price but without any good pictures, I worry about fraud. Everyone here is helpful and give me good advise. I did contact the seller for more pictures especially close up, as someone advise me. I received one pic, not a close up and a reply that no closeup pic are available from the seller.
Since so many suggest it could be a questionable deal. I decided to stay away. Until Jim offer to go check it out. I know you guys here are very knowledgeable so I think I will wait for Jim's opinion. As far as Jim buying the bike, he PM me & I told him I have no problem with him. He did offer to sell it at a good price & I ask for a quote which is very close to my bidding limit. I accept the quote with shipping which I think is very fair. He will ship me the bike when he comes back from vacation next month.
I was gonna take pic of the bike and thank Jim publicly at the same time when I receive it, but I didn't want Jim to be getting a beating for the time being.
I never whine about the whole situation once. I get the help I want here from everyone which I really appreciate. And to me Jim is more than fair & square.

Thanks again. C & V is a great place!
