I replaced that chrome handlebar plug with a black Giant one to match other side.

Good all around solid road bike. Nice thing about the Sora group is you can convert it to a triple for not too much money. Ride the wheels off of it.

There is nothing particularly wrong with the seatpost. You said that you could not ride the bike because the tires were flat. Spend that seatpost money on a good floor pump instead. You cannot save enough weight to matter changing the seatpost
