Hey, Ho . . . From NYC!

Well . . . Here I am, bitten by another hobby.

I've been riding bikes all my life. I've had many. The last bike I bought was a Specialized Hardrock Ultra. I got it new in 1994 because I was sick of the NYC streets eating my bikes. After 20 years, I wanted a change. I didn't like the gearing and found the riding position rather uncomfortable. In December, in a moment of weakness, I bought a brand new, shiny All-City Space Horse. After almost 3 months, I have mixed feelings about it. It's extremely comfortable for the most part, especially on longer rides, but it took a while. The first problem was toe-strike. It took a bit of adjustments to the fenders and a smaller set of toe clips. Now I find myself unhappy with the handle bars. I have small hands and have trouble reaching the brake levers from the drops. I also find the drops rather uncomfortable, so I rarely drop.

Also, living in New York City, there's no room for more than one bike in my apartment. Still, I can't seem to get myself to get rid of the Hardrock.

Welcome to BF! If you’ve got the small apt bike storage blues, get a two-tier rack. You can store two while only occupying the footprint of one.

Nope. This won't work. I keep my bike in the building's bike storage room. It took two years for my name to get called off the waiting list. I just got my bike OUT of my apartment, I don't want to keep another one! I bought the Space Horse to be my "one bike to do it all" bike. I just need help letting go of the Hardrock!

Lock it up outside and it'll be gone before you know it! Just teasing, and welcome. Lots of us suffer from N+1 and/or storage issues.
