Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I was actually asked by the Brown and RISD security to remove bikes with U-locks on them cuz they couldnt without either cutting the frame or the bike rack and in exchange for cleaning up their campuses of old abandoned bikes the co-op i volunteer at got all the bikes. and i have no shame or guilt about doing this. cuz a bike that sits too long becomes worthless, and if the person who left it there clearly doesnt want it why not actually get it ridden and used again?

I sold my fixie with a Swift Ti leather saddle and Phil wood high flange hubs for less than $300 to eat and pay the rent. I wish now that I'd been evicted and went hungry and starved to death while riding that bike.

Thanks. I appreciate it. FWIW, I'm treating myself to a new fixie this week-end for my b-day. It won't be nearly as nice my old one...but it will help to fill the hollow space left in my life. I can't wait to be almost whole again.

listening to music is not illegal everywhere near is sidewalk riding.

just most places.

and only one of the two is overly dangerous as long as you look behind you regularly...

I now have more road bikes than SS bikes Altho I'm thinking about buying one of those SSCX Fuji bikes since a LBS here sells them as framesets for pretty cheap.

After exclusively riding brakeless for forever, I love having hoods and brakes on my new bike D:
I tell people I have a single speed road bike or just road bike. Fixie and fixed gear sound weird.
I want a trick bike with a rear rack for commuting and nose pivoting.
I try to make my bike as least flashy as possible.
I like compact geo now more than pershoot bikes, what the hell is wrong with me.
I want to run a full 3/32" drivetrain so bad.
Out of my friends I'm the only one who doesn't buy "the good ****".
The only bike parts I really ever buy are tools :/
I'm so lame

EDIT: I **** on people who have Aerospokes, but desperately want to run a dual set up, so that I can ride the **** out of them.
I also like how they look on the rear when one skids
