I have that on my watch list but am hoping to find one for less. I may run the stock fork for a bit until one of the local co ops gets one in......

+1 That Stumpy looks much better than expected! You could always take a small brush and some Testors and inpaint to restore the decals before you clear coat.

How about this one?
Rigid Hi Ten Steel MTB Mountain Bike Fork Chrome 1 1 8 26" Canti Brakes Threaded | eBay
It's new with 23cm uncut steer tube and 10cm of thread so you can cut it to size.
Sorry about the last false alarm, hopefully this one is a keeper.

I have a set of Northroads that I am going to try this with. Originally I was planning on using a mustache bar but a mock set up made me realize why they are sitting on the shelf after the first time I used them. Any feeling of control is gone and they are much wider than the Northroads making it feel like I am steering with a golf club.
You obviously have never tried the Origin 8 Tiki moustache bar! Its narrow and you have a good measure of control on the road. I like it more than a drop bar since it brings the brake lever/shifters into a more normal position. This bar is like a North Roads but made for road bike levers/shifters.

@MikesChevelle,
Paint job came out nice. Great color. I've used a similar paint on an engine valve cover. The cast finish is cool.
The GT fork neo pointed out on Ebay is a great candidate should a local one doesn't materialize. That GT is a great fork. I'm considering buying one just as a spare.

The OG Fatbikes go back to around 1990, well before the first Pugs was made in 2005.
A lot of folks would run double and even triple rim+tire setups before Snowcat rims were made (by welding two rims together with one of their walls removed.)

+1 I couldn't agree more, the Fat Franks are the coolest tire going for these older trail bikes!
I installed a set of gray ones on my '88 Cimarron LE that's being rebuilt, plenty of tire clearance... even for 2.35 tires!

This is an old MIELE MTB I converted to a loaded drop-bar touring bike. It has 9-speed Mirage shifters and rear derailler, interrupter-cyclo-cross levers and an adjustable stem for differing terrain.

@Miele Man
A great job on the Vetta recovery. Pun intended. I have an old black jacket as a donor for my 1st attempt to redo some classic saddles.
Your Miele looks like it took on serious miles. Nice conversion.

Getting close gonna hit up a few other bike shops for a fork tomorrow, then the assembly starts. Thinking brown saddle and bar tape**********
If I cant find a threaded fork in what I need, I know where a threadless one is, can a LBS thread that?

Generally, cutting threads in a threadless fork is thought to be a very bad idea. The wall thickness of a threadless fork's steerer is the same as the thinnest part of the steerer of a threaded fork. So cutting threads in would make the walls thinner than is generally considered to be safe.

What steerer length do you need? I have an extra brand new Tange fork in the parts pile.
