I run 26x2.2 , v brakes and quick releases tubeless rims. The D521 can be fitted with 26x2.2 tires without problems.I will never ride something bigger than 26x2.2 , 26x2.3 might fit on the d521 as well as 26x2.5 but my goal is to be sure that I don't have too fat tires for avoiding tire rub ,also weight reduction for my builds is important.

Seller claims to have "replaced the rotting .... grips", which is kinda meaningless in this case, but based on the catalog - https://1987nishiki.wordpress.com/ - looks like the brake levers were replaced by something cheap and stamped and un-hooded. Mine is a delight to ride, and that candy red finish really shines when cared for. I would DEFINITELY confirm the $30 shipping before bidding; "if it sounds too good to be true....".

I know 32 or 36 hole rims are more standard around here, and polished aluminum preferred over black, but this seems awfully cheap for a nice set of rims...

well you are correct but I don't think you will get a whole reynolds 853 bike at this price.As the seller says in the ad "The frame spent a lot of time on a trainer by the previous owner and there are several areas of corrosion to the frame, mostly on the bottom bracket junction and the underside of the top tube. The bottom bracket was painted by the previous owner in an attempt to cover the corrosion."I noticed also on my Jamis Dragon made with Reynolds 853 some minor rust in the bottom bracket which is why I treated the bottom bracket , the inside of the seat tube, the inside of the head tube, inside of the diagonal tube and the inside of the tube stays with rustol black primer. Don't know if there is a way of completely remove the rust from this frame and save it, if the rust is at a too advanced stage,then it is pity. Maybe a framebuilder can save it but it will be expensive

Early '70s Holdsworth Professional road bike. Reynolds 531 steel makes this a light bike. 61cm frame measured center to center. All Campagnolo Nuovo Record components. Brooks Professional saddle. Bike is in excellent condition.
