January ride cancelled due to rain
February 17th will be our next ride. 10 a.m. start from the Starbucks in Gold River.
We will be back at it in February. Hopefully, THIS will be our first ride of 2024. Its winter, but we will ride, anyway! (If it doesn’t rain…. !-)) 10 am start to let things warm up a little. Our typical route up the trail to Folsom. Looking forward to seeing the fruits of your winter garage time! Theme of the month is show us something new. New build, mods to an existing bike, new clothes. Let’s see whatcha got!

I went down to visit you guys after our team ride. Took me a while to figure it out VintageRide was canceled (didn't think of looking in this thread) .
I hope to see you in February. (or beforehand?)

Does anyone have suggestions for a reasonably priced tubular tire or a favorite outlet for them?

On the totally tubular sticky thread people will post when they find great deals. There's a number of mail order places that occasionally have deals, I usually buy in bulk when I find a great deal (Great = 60%-70% off retail).

If you really want to go low budget, there's always the Yellow Jersey option:
https://www.yellowjersey.org/tt.html
But, I'd strongly recommend going for higher quality, wider tubulars. Narrow silk tubulars feel great. Cheap? Not so much.
Following the totally tubular thread is a great idea. But, I've picked up most of mine at swap meets.
I'm close to you. What width are you looking for, and for what bike? I might have some options for you.
On another note, the weather isn't looking great for this weekend's ride. Bummer!

May move ride to 9 a.m. to beat the rain
I am keeping an eye on the weather and it doesn’t look like rain will arrive before the afternoon. Mornings are warming up. May be beneficial to move ride start back to our regular 9 a.m. Will confirm if we move up ride tomorrow before 6 p.m. so check in for any changes.

Ride Start Moved to 9 a.m.
Will be dry in the morning but rain is moving in by the early afternoon. Ride is being moved back to 9 a.m. It is predicted to be about 51 degrees at 9 a.m. so not a bad temperature.
Route remains the same.

The last ones I've purchased were Vittoria Rallys. I see that they are now available on Amazon for about $33. I had purchased mine directly from Vittoria, but I see that their website says that they are out of stock.

Third Saturday is March 16th-Delta Ride and Afterparty!
https://facebook.com/events/s/delta-...8307557442720/
our Third Saturday Ride is on March 16th at 9 a.m.
It is starting from the corner of H and 47th Street in East Sacramento and will be going into the Delta and returning through Freeport and South Land Park. There is safe street parking at the start or just bike over if you are local.
Here is the route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45634518
37 miles and pan flat. We will start at 9 and should be done by 12-12:30. I will be having an open house in the yard of my house and there will be plenty of safe parking for bikes in the yard. Open house/lunch will go to about 3.
Will have pizza, snacks , and drinks for attendees so if you are coming, drop me a note so I can make sure there is enough for everyone.

Could I just arrive for the get together afterwards? I think that the ride will be a bit much for me. I will ride over, though. And you need not do anything special for me, as I have a special diet.

Let's see, a ride with the Sacto folks, led by Sactown Albert, on the flats (where I have a fighting chance of not getting dropped too badly), with a pizza party afterwards? What's not to like? Count me in.

Come for the after party!
Happy to have you drop by afterwards. We will return around 12-12:30 so you can pop in and enjoy our company and some food after we return. If the 37 into the Delta feels too daunting, I live close to the American River Bike Trail and you or others could do a mellow jaunt on the ARBT and then swing by at around 12:30.
