Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Your dream frame ?

I was looking at some Cervelo bikes at a LBS - simply beautiful.

But then LOOK has this proprietary head tube design which is in every way an improvement - it stiffer, lighter, sexier and more aerodynamic all at the same time. and it's not a tube at all.

but then the rest of the LOOK frame doesn't look as elegant or aerodynamic as Cervelo.

so if i won the lottery today ( other than getting both ) i don't know which one i would go for ?

what do you think ?

^^^What he said about the Giant.
Or maybe a Tarmac SL3.
You don't need some boutique frame like a Look or Cervelo.

If we are talking lottery money I'd probably get funky and get in line at Vanilla.

Otherwise, I really like my Litespeed so maybe a custom sized Ti.

I'd get a Moots too, whichever one has a level toptube.

AndI'd get a vintage steel, something using Columbus SX.

And I'd get a big giant house with a big pool with my initials on the bottom . . . "BD".

And I'd get a big SUV and a fancy BMW.

And I'd get . . .

Sorry OP, I know you're thinking something carbon, but I don't believe in disposable bikes.

I would probably get a P4 to hold me over while I commissioned a custom time trial & touring frame.

Pegoretti Love #3 running complete campy record, with Campy low profile wheels. Mostly because I think the frame is just beautiful.

I would be jealous, but judging from the some 40 pictures he posted, he takes very good gare of it.

I stole this from someone's flicker account

Which Cervelo? I am likely going to get either a R3-SL or a S3 in the next couple of weeks but can not decide. I am leaning towards the R3-SL. If Crumpton didn't have such a long que I would get a Corsa-M.

Sweet bike, hadn't heard of Pegoretti before.

My dream frame? Actually way too many to ever be able to pick just one. Maybe a dream stable.

Something titanium and custom.

Nothing looks better than raw Ti in my opinion.

Oh, and a calfee bamboo bike, just to have, I think those look very cool as well.

Although I have less than a thousand miles on it, I like my Extralight frame a lot.

If I have a lot of money, I will get a Spectrum custom Ti.

Amazing that in world of carbon so many replies that a steel frame is the dream frame.

Mine. Look 585 in the no longer produced tangerine color.

It's been my dream frame since 2007 I manned up this past winter, and bought one nos. I prefer the paint on the older SLC, to the newer bikes. Now that I've been riding it quite a bit, I couldn't be happier. I am contemplating selling the Trek again, I only want to ride the Cervelo anymore.

I'm a big fan of the Cervelo S2, and the BMC Team Machine is quickly becoming one of my favorites as well. We'll see how Hincapie does this weekend

I'm very happy with my Calfee, but I would like to have another bike too. For my next bike I would like something in Ti, but I don't know which one. Most stock frames will not fit me, the head tubes are too short. Kish fabricators is at the top of my list as a potential frame builder.
