Thanks man. It's my first fg/ss build, setup to be an all rounder to complement my road bike and 29er.
Spec:
2009 Kona Paddy wagon frame and fork
Mavic cxp22 rims/ Surley hubs/ conti touring plus 32c tires
stock bars and levers wrapped in serfas yellow tape
Race face 90 stem
crane creek headset
stock brakes with jagwire cables and kool stop pads
stock seat post and clamp with velo seat/ kinda soft because I'm planning on most rides around town without bike shorts
stock FSA gossamer crank with sugino 46t chain ring
shimano 18t freewheel/17t cog
shimano a530 dual spd/flat pedals
kmc 710sl nickel chain
cheap bottle cage
This forum has been a big help in picking components and getting it together..

My Jensen. First FG bike I've ever had and ridden.
It's since been fitted with new all-black Conti tires.

I wonder if I could get $200 for my Hour? Although, I have to say, it does make a nice beater bike that I don't worry too much about when I lock it up.

I like seeing 'before and after' photos and thought others here might, too. Here's an old shot of my bike that I recently came across that I had taken when I first got it. I made some changes...
Counting the ways:
- Black tires replaced with gumwalls
- Velocity Deep Vs laced to ... ? (don't remember) replaced with H+ Son TB14s laced to Miche Primato track hubs. Silver hubs and spokes.
- Brake added (necessary evil for this commuter)
- Sugino 75 replaced with IRD Defiant. It just looks 'right' in all the ways that the Sugino doesn't.
- Power Grips replaced with MKS clips and Zefal Christophe straps
- Ugly, crappy, no-name seatpost replaced with not-ugly, slightly-less-crappy Velo Orange seatpost
- Ugly, crappy Specialized saddle replaced with tasty Selle San Marco Concor Supercorsa
- Bianchi ITM stem with detachable face plate replaced with Cinelli 1R stem (also tasty)
- Chopped and flipped Bontrager drops replaced with Nitto RB-002
- Cinelli cork tape held together with electrical tape replaced with Cinelli Caleido tape
As she sits today:
Very happy with how she looks now. Not perfect, and some compromises have been made in the name of functionality (aforementioned brake, would love to run Veloflexes or Vittorias but don't want to suffer a puncture on the way to work (always a hazard on our perennially sh*tty NYC streets), etc.) but overall pretty pleased.

When I was having issues with the BB fit for the Sugino 75 crank arms I decided to replace it with the IRD Defiant. I saw someone mention it here and decided to check out the crankset and liked it. Luckily, the store I ordered the bottom bracket from let me exchange the one I ordered (108 ISO) for the one that fits the IRD crankset (111 JIS). I agree that the IRD Defiant looks right for it. I'll just save the silver Sugino 75 crank arms for a future bike, match it with a silver 44rn (aarn?) chainring and I think it looks sick.
Classy bike man!

It's a Pista and not an Eco Pista, by the way. I believe that was earlier on when Bianchi produced both the Eco Pista and the Super Pista. By 1986 I believe they did away with that and only offered the one model.
Yes, brakes definitely wear away the ano and mine are already starting to fail. Wet conditions, trying to clean the rim, etc. only make it worse. I believe the only way this can be avoided is to run ceramic rims.

Simply calling it a pista would do it a disservice by incorporating it with the modern uni-crown POS pista's
Ceramic rims are no better. Friction wrecks havoc on all rim coatings. Riding in wet conditions only accelerates wear of the coating as the brake dust & road grime essentially wet sands the brake surface every time you stop.

my ceramic rims are still that blackish metallic grey and theyre at least 10 yrs old, they annihilate pads tho.
waiting to see how long these green pads last, they certainly make enough dust.

Stopping power also "fades" a whole lot sooner under heavier/ sudden braking.
