Flat Pedal recommendations....
I am building up a rigid 26er as a around towner. I am looking for a good cheap set of flat pedals that wont look completely out of place on a 90s mtb. Id like it if they were pinned but not required. What are your favorites to use?
On a classic road or touring bike id use the MKS Sylvan. I LOVE that pedal and likely would never switch to anything else. ON a MTB i am a bit lost...

I have the plastic version of Odyssey Grandstand pedals on both of my bikes, a late 80s MTB and a late 80s Schwinn Sprint. Pretty comfy, double concave and big enough for my size 13 shoes. Definitely looks ok on the MTB.

Only flats I have th I'd recommend are Race Face Chesters. Not sure how they look on a 90s MTB, but they are awesome.

iSSi Thumps are an excellent buy for around $40. I put a set on my favorite hybrid last summer. Great pedals, no complaints.

For a budget upgrade, I like the plastic-bodied BMX pedals like the Animal 'Hamilton' or Odyssey 'Twisted'
Light-ish, decent grip, and serviceable bearings. You can find them all day long for $20, sometimes as low as $10, if you don't mind funky colors, although the plain black are good if you're trying to keep the bike low-key.
