If the facility lacks the space to maneuver you would have to do that, but otherwise, why work hard when you can work smart?
Full disclosure, the convertor dolly had an air actuator mounted on the 5th wheel that would drive a pin up through the apron so the convertor would not articulate at the pin so three articulation points became two for backing as the convertor and B trailer were one rigid unit. The official rule was we were only supposed to deploy that pin with empty cans, but if you could get a straight shot at the dock, we used them all the time.

I wonder if it has holes in the floorboards? I remember riding in a car one time that had a hole in the floorboard so you could see the road whiz past, I thought that was pretty cool. But it wasn't raining or muddy that day, fortunately.
